Haha. I don't think it's the same. We get crabgrass too, but its roots are more shallow and it's in clumps opposed to being spread and deeply embedded. Thanks Sunny!
So when you used the q-tip method, there was no water mixed in - just straight fluazifop with the plain dish soap mixed together? Thanks btw, I really appreciate your efforts with the video.
@@thomassawyer6523 Yes, I did not dilute it-it's definitely time consuming. Thanks for the comment on the video. I'm learning this video stuff as I go.
Try this - Certainty Turf Herbicide - Seems expensive but the 1.25 oz bottle treats 10,000 sq ft. However some reviewers state it may kill certain other lawn grass but I suspect they may have been infested with other unidentified weed grasses.
The issue with certainty is the amount you need to kill quack grass and what would kill KBG is a very fine margin. Because the margins are so narrow, that’s why it got de labeled for cool season. It definitely works, just gotta be careful with your mix. It’s kind of a similar deal to fusillade II. It kills Quack but it also will kill KBG and Rye, but tall fescue can survive it. Same active ingredient as grass b gone. If you want to chose a selective, need to be super dialed in the rate and decide which grass you want to risk losing in the are if you have a mix
Yes it's a real pain. If you are going to try and kill it, I'd wait until early spring before it matures for the year and be careful for your surrounding turf. Thanks for watching!
@@liveyourbestlawn yeah I think I’m just gonna throw in the towel, keep mowing and feeding the lawn and hope for the best. Mine isn’t in like sections but scattered and throughout.
@Stash77, it's the hardiest weed I've ever encountered in cool season. Currently using nitrile gloves, 50:50 mix of Glyphosate:water with some AMS and surfsctant. Its working but man its a chore.
@@wadehustad9447 yeah it sucks for sure. I haven’t gone that route yet but we will see. I have been testing just barely pressing on the grass b gone trigger and just dribble on the leafs has been working. I also mow a lot which is keeping it suppressed at least. We will see where I’m at in early July and will like do the gly painting. Wish it was my backyard and not the front though. Never should have aerated with it 3 years ago.
It did kill the portion of the root that I pulled out. I did not pull out the entire root so I can not say it killed "the whole root system". From others I've talked to, it does kill it, but multiple applications were needed. This is fine in small doses but for the amount of time it takes, cultural practice may be better.
