Ya, looks pretty cool. Wish i had a asic to try o....wait, i have a brand new bitmain s19a pro that arrived with. " i assume," with the extensive troubleshooting i've been going through that, it's the board. Did i mention it's my first asic... quite disapointed i tell ya. Now the HUNT begins for parts.
very nice explanation... many thanks... ✌ just one thing.. if overclock 400W makes much more effort to the power supply? even on cooling.... have to change anything? or 400w is confortable to stay with stock fans?
What about UNDER clocking? Like, for longevity and when it's hotter outside and the miners aren't inside with controlled AC. Would love to get some thoughts on that and just how to do it effectively. Are there any cons to underclocking besides just lower hash rate? Risks? Currently, we're focused on making machines last and pulling less power when it's hot out
Underclocking is the same concept. You will lower the voltage and tune the frequency as well. There will be a point where you clock too low and the chips won't respond well to that. I'm not sure when that will begin but will probably be pretty low. You will see some efficiency gains from underclocking.
@@kaboomracks Do you HAVE to change the frequency with the voltage or is the goal in underclocking to get the lowest voltage with the highest frequency? In other words do they both have to come down to use less power and be efficient ? Thanks!
Great video! Tuning my s19j pro 100 ths and up at 580mhz at 13.65v works ok slight downclocking on some chips.. But no matter what i do if i go over to 585mhz i start getting high rejected shares and my hashrate at pool decrease.. Any ideas or suggestions? i tried 585 at 13.75v didnt help
@@kaboomracks latest version, haven't tried a hard reset. I'm starting to get it very stable at 13.65v with global frequency of 580mhz with some chips lower
For overclocking. I set my disable to 14 V and the voltage per boards settles at 13.8-13.9. Even when I set global voltage at 14.2 the voltage after 10 minutes will settle to 13.8-13.9V(at initial turn on it will be a 14.0-13.9 for a few minutes). Using the 135 preset the voltage holds from 14.0-13.90. Temps are always under 73 C. This is 1.1.3 version. Any suggestion to get a higher stable voltage close to the global setting would be appreciated.
@@tortillaqq1651 When tuning we like to crank it 0.25v increments to see how the chips handle it from a starting point of around 13.5 and go up to around 14.5 at the highest. While cranking up the voltage, we also crank the MHz in increments of 25-50. If it's flatlining, try to focus on increasing MHz
@@kaboomracks Thanks for the help! Got it working great. By the way to everyone looking for a miner, I purchased from kaboom and got the PSU mod too. It was fast and imo the best priced in USA. Highly recommended.
Yeah that would be great. The problem is there is not any public firmware out there to overclock and do stuff on them. There are some people out there working on it and as soon as it's out, we'll do videos on it.
