Reinstalled Windows on a new drive; version 1709. It has been "downloading and installing" 22H2 for a full day -- by which I mean it downloads, installs, restarts, and starts the process all over again. So...THANK YOU. I've been trying to find this manual update link all morning.
I was searching how to check Windows Update without it automatically downloading and installing. On Windows 11, they currently have it that if you check, they automatically install. I don't want to install just anything and I like to wait before installing the most newest updates.
When I restarted it after it installed it didn’t show the update screen or the “hi, we have some updates for you” screen it just restarted like a normal reboot and it didn’t update my windows
@@biancamaxino yes it will just reboot your PC and installed the newest one. But if you're having a doubt well it better to have a backup files before u do it.
This worked for me, after watching and trying many videos which didn't work. I had the problem where it would download 22H2, then try to install after restarting, and then not work and do the same thing over and again. I tried turning off all except windows processes in the selective startup, and that didn't work. For some reason this method of dl directly from microsoft did the trick. Thanks.

I think finally I got the update the 22H2 Windows 10 Now when my computer restarts it goes on to the log on screen no mouse no keyboard no log on I shut it on and off and on and off on and off for the past 2 days trying to get into something even the BIOS into some kind of a thing to fix it but when I start it and it's on the log on screen I hear the hard drive moving so I guess it's doing the upgrade but the screen goes black and if I remove the power it comes back on again but there's no log on no keyboard works and no mouse so is it updating it's taking like a whole day this is crazy any advice

i finished the manual update and all but it didn't let me keep my files and apps it tells me this message" Your files, apps, and settings can't be kept because your current version of Windows might be installed in an unsupported directory or you're trying to install an older version of Windows." can you tell me how to fix this please and thank you.
Thank you for guidance. After resetting laptop windows version is 21H1. It may download updates as laptop was unused for few months. Can i directly install 22H2 from 21H1 skipping 21H2 or can i install 21H2 and then 22H2 immediately after reset. There may be some patches which are uninstalled as windows update does not download all patches at once. Will it break my pc? It takes half a day to reset and install all apps and transfer data. Please help Thanks again.
@@OnlineComputerTips Thank you. Just as an Update, After Reset, Windows automatically installed 22H1 skipping 21H2 and my system is working fine. Relieved, I immediately setup a system restore point. Thank you for the help.
@@elsa6105 It sounds like there might be some domain policy blocking the update or maybe your computer is updated by a local Windows update server. Either that or the update assistant doesn't work on Enterprise versions of Windows.
According to Microsoft, you can go from 2004 to 22H2. Updates do not delete personal files but ALWAYS do a backup before doing any major update like this just in case you encounter and unrecoverable errors.

@@jefforr4488 It depends which video you are referring to. If you do the Windows 10 22H2 upgrade then your computer will be as current as the file you download. If you do the Windows 11 upgrade, then you will be on Windows 11.
@@OnlineComputerTips i figured it out,thank you. there is also a bypass for anyone who has a pc and doesnt meet requirements. it involves deleting a file in the iso download
It did help me, but you're absolutely right. Manually would be inserting the update/injecting it. This helped me a lot tho cause I didn't need to do it manually after all
@@ItzNuclearOfficial I think I keep 21H2 because my laptop is 10 years old and the hardware can not handle the normal windows 10 updates... takes many hours always
My Windows Update assistant is stuck at 99% on Installation screen and I have 5G network with 200mbps but it is still stuck on 99% after a whole 24 hours
@@ahmtr_ylmz The Windows Update Assistant is a small download but I don't know how large the update is since it downloads it while using the Windows Update Assistant tool.
