As welded caps.. you will never really be able to tell 100% where the center is, without being able to see the root weld.. welds can bias the welds as they are welding, and might put an extra bead on one side or another for a number of reasons.. such as to blend hi-lo..or internal transisions..

Bro. Most of my latest videos are 1 or 2 minutes. The problem is some viewers ask for longer videos. Myself prefer shorter videos. Thank you for the suggestion.

what I've found is that if you do the math, 16- 10-3/4=5-1/2. divide by 2 and get 2-5/8. I would get a 2 inch block and a 5/8 plate stacked atop each other. push the eccentric against a piece of h beam so it doesn't show a gap and roll it until it sits atop the 2-5/8 metal just past the bevel. mark the eccentric along the straight part at 8 inches. place the 16 inch side on the table and use a square to make a line at the mark. works every time for me.
