Madman of the swamp from Florida here! About to get a nice little rebel T7 and a 50-300mm with an extension tube and go film REAL Florida. I'll be using much of what you shared here today. Thanks, buddy 😉👌
Thanks Jamie for your tips, I'm certainly giving this a go! Love the physical stabilisation ideas. Both my camera and my lenses do not have it built-in. So these ideas might help a great deal. Fingers crossed!
What happens if we attach a Raynox DCR-250 on this lens? what would be the resulting magnification and working distance? I would be very happy if you provide the answer.
Thanks for a nice macro discussion video! Would you post a link for that magnetic, three clamp, "plamp" device? I would love to find and purchase one. Thanks again
I know this comment is from 5 months ago, but I too couldnt find anything about a "plamp" other than 1 specific product, for anyone else wondering, it's actually called a "flexible helping hand" and is normally used in soldering, but I found ones exactly like the one in the video on Amazon. If you want a magnetic one you can add in "magnetic" to the start of the search
I was struggling to find anything actually called a "plamp" other than like 1 product by 1 company, after some research I found a generic thing called a "flexible helping hand" which is used in soldering and is actually what the product shown in the video is. There's even ones with built in lights which could be useful. Also I somehow had no idea focus peaking was a thing and now I really wish my Nikon D810 had it. Focusing accurately has always been by far the hardest part of macro for me.
