that’s so exciting!! i love how the game is so diverse with the people who play!! i hope you were able to find the ancient seed and are still enjoying the game!! when you get access to the desert with the bus, save up your omni geodes to get artifact troves!! you might be able to find the ancient fruit artifact with that! (also just kill a bunch of bugs and hoe the ground in the mines!! you can find it that way too:) )
Recycling broken cds and glasses from crab pots is THE best way to get refined quartz. If you like the crystal paths/floor, this is the way to get the materials for it. I even have the Luremaster profession to make this as easy as possible.
Counterpoint: if you're later game and want to do it quick, fire quartz in crystalariums. I ran about 10 crystalariums with fire quarts for a couple weeks and smelted it all and I don't think I'll ever need refined quartz again
Don't forget to farm wood at the train station. It's a big area, lots of space. All those pinecones make tons of trees. With an iridium axe with the shaving enchantment and managing to chop down well over a hundred trees net me 3 full stacks of wood. Couple that with tree fertilizer and you've got a chest full of wood in no time! You CAN use it to farm tree saps with tappers, but I prefer to use the desert for that.
I never thought that trash would be useless... until I got my Recycling Machine from the Bundles... that's when I realised that they suddenly become *useful*
I use the spa because I use the train station area to plant hundreds of trees. So when I go to cut them down and I run out of energy, I jump into the spa and then resume cutting trees down
I set a barrel beside a teleporter and when it’s ready I go through the teleport, into my storage barn, and harvest the rest of them. It’s like an alarm clock and transporter in one. Walking across your farm can waste a lot of time especially if you realize the wines not even ready.
About the spa: I play local multiplayer with my dad and sometimes one of us goes to the spa and we both pause the game, that way you still regain energy and no time is spent!
You actually dont need to do this. On multiplayer, if you enter your bed and just chill there (dont rest for the day - cancel that option), you regain energy. Enjoy your nap and save time walking to the spa!
Thanks for the tip about the tea leaves I dont have a golden clock and my fences keep breaking while I am out and about in skull cavern or ginger island. :)
I like the idea of heavy tappers, but I'm only moderately aggressive at ramping up the money engines, so "just plant and tap more maple trees" works well enough for me. I could probably handle activating the dangerous mines more often, but a day's worth of radioactive ore is only gonna make so many heavy tappers (and a week's worth of Qi Gems is also only gonna buy so many).

The stopped getting used when I have access to my kitchen. Getting 7 hearts with Linus gives the best recipe for early-mid game: Sashimi. Making sashimi from farm and river fish caught in crab pots increases the fish value, but is also 75 energy without overriding any other food buffs.
The farm ironically is the worst place to plant stuff at least in the ground. You see on the farm you can make sheds which allow for 28 space (+7 for walk space) and give you 137 space. Now the farm is the only place you can build these and increase your space and you can put loads of things in these sheds and put all your in the ground plants on ginger island if you don't want to fill it with crystalariums or maybe bee hives as I think with fairy rose and given how compact you can get them they actually make more money than a crystalarium I think.
I use the automate mod and have alot of cloth from crab pot’s without doing anything as I don’t fishing too late I switch to luremaater so I only check on in whenever I want and it’s literally my biggest source of Refined Quartz
