You might ask: what about the safety? What if people I meet are psychos? Well, you’re not safe from them anywhere in the world. I live in NYC and rarely feel 100% safe. So be as careful as you’d be in your hometown. And second of all, you should just trust your gut feeling! It’s there, believe me, something inside will let you know if you’re in a dangerous situation.

As usual interesting. I can relate. Everyone has a story. My husband was in the military over thirty years. It toughens you. And it can make you a very mean person. My husband would say "what can you expect from an organization whose main purpose is to kill people and blow things up." You either come out a better person or you never recover.
Really important topic especially for people interested in traveling! It's quite scary to go solo but the people you meet and become friends with during the journey make it super worth it and the tips you shared have worked with me too (even tho sometimes I have met really crazy people I wouldn't wanna see again, but the good ones make it so worth it!).
