lifesaver! Thank You very much. I ran across a different video first with no audio and it just wasn't very helpful. Thanks for putting this together. worked like a dream!
YOU ARE A HEROOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much T_T. I really don't understand tech, and I was almost in tears trying to figure this out!! The written instructions make NO sense!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Hope you are safe and well during this crazy time!!! If you celebrate any winter holidays, happy holidays!! Will be wishing you well!!
Hey Trent! Just wanted to say that you totally saved my life and I'm so grateful you also provided a cheat sheet too. Looking forward to sharing this online and linking to you. You rock! :)
great video, thanks. FYI, you can combine step 2 and step 3 - there's no need to navigate to the desktop first. In fact, the easiest way would be to just drag the folder containing your files and drop it on the little grey rectangle after 'cd' in terminal. Terminal will automatically add the full file location
thank you! That was incredibly helpful. FYI, CD = Change Directory :-) I used to be a power DOS user in the dark ages. LOL! That was fast and easy. Appreciate you making this video.
Very helpful, thank you. What I discovered while doing this. You can right-click your folder and then choose "new terminal with folder" I don't know if I translated this correct but something like that should me there if you right click it. Then you have to type only the cat command :)
First of all, thank you very much for this description. However, a problem arises for me when using it. I have customer data in .csv files consisting of last name, first name, street, phone number, etc. The individual details are separated by a comma. The data is meant to be imported into Excel and I use the commas to map the columns there. After the last entry in each individual csv. File is of course no comma. If I use the method you mentioned to import several of the csv. files. Files together, the first entry of the second file is added after the last entry of the first file ... the first entry of the third file with the last entry of the second file, etc. Is there a command I can add in terminal that when merging the files a comma is added to the end of each file?
this is so fucking nice. i first followed another tutorial that teaches me to use python for file concatenation. it sucks. this one is awesome. thxxxxx bro
