The fact that you not only gifted us with an easy to follow tutorial...you answered every question in the comments AAAND provided encouragement. Like wow! My every concern was addressed without me even having to ask. Your hair is as beautiful as you! Thanks for all of it!
Me too! Thinking about coming my traditional locs out and starting micro locs. Not interested in paying thousands of dollars for something I can do myself. Thank you!
Girl this what meant to be because I JUST ordered this mirror from Amazon 5 mins ago and I type in starting your own microlocs and you’re the first video that pops up with this mirror. Yes girl!
I just started mine a week ago after seeing this video. I'm a bit nervous about retwisting in a 5/6 weeks but watching your journey gives me encouragement 😊
Just started mine 2 days ago. Transitioning from traditional locs to micro locs. Properly have 2 more days of work to go. Such a long tedious process but looking at your beautiful locs I know it will be worth it…
You are an actual lifesaver! I’ve been having so much anxiety about the grid pattern to use, and you just simplified it in a way that makes me feel like I can actually do this now!
Girl, you a tremendous job, I keep thinking about it a long time. After seeing your video I fall in love more with microlocs. Thanks I want to see more videos of yours. 🙏👍🏽
I just finished my 8 year old daughter hair 4 day's ago and i started mines and i can tell you my hands are giving out 😂😂😂😂😂 ... Thanks for the motivation girl ... I stay on your videos just to not give up
Hi! This is probably thee best installation video I've ever seen for diy microlocs. Funny, I just got this mirror in the mail to practice braiding/flat twisting. I just combed my microlocs out after having 3 locticians. I wasn't satisfied with any. This video & seeing that this mirror works for you makes me feel like if I loc again, I'm doing it myself. Beautiful job, subbed & followed on ig ❤
hi! i’m so glad you found this video useful, that means a lot. you can definitely do it yourself with patience and determination. i loveeee the mirror because it makes doing the back of my head so much easier. thank you thank you 🤎
Wow wow wow! I am in love with your hair. I'm currently doing my research to start my Loc journey soon. I want to start them myself but it's the patience for me 😩 but I know I'll eventually do them myself. Thanks for showing us your process.
thank you thank you! it’s not as difficult as it may seem. i’d suggest working in sections and moving at your own pace. you got this, i believe in you 🤎
I was so discouraged at other videos at prices and methods but I found you and I was encouraged thank you for your videos I am going to lock my yeah!!!!!
Girl, you did a tremendous job, I keep thinking about it a long time. After seeing your video I fall in love more with microlocs. Thanks I want to see more videos of yours. 🙏👍🏽
Hey love, you did AMAZING! I’m thinking about getting locs I’m so nervous…I originally saw you on Pinterest and that’s how I got here, your videos has inspired me to make my discussion. I’m so excited to start my journey very soon 💕💕💕
Omg, I am in loveeee. I have been thinking about doing these microlocs and the cost for a long time....but now I can do em myself...I will be starting this journey!!! Thank you so much for the motivation❤️❤️❤️❤️ and your hair looks amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!
Honey chile I cannot convince myself to pay for these locs when I been doing my own hair almost 15 years now. In this moment I decided I’ll be doing my own microlocs😂
I've been looking at videos of people doing their own for like the past 6 months and I really wanty like this just don't have the patience or arm strength and just not sure ify hair is thick enough to carry this style always like microbraids and I like this even more cause it's your hair growing and they just look great
thank you! i’ve seen microlocs successfully installed on thinner hair textures. maybe try to find people with hair that is similar to yours so you’ll have an idea of how your locs will evolve.
Amazing job.. I can’t wait to get mines done in 2 weeks I’m so excited and with the length of my hair in the middle of my back I pray I get that my hair length should come out good 🤞🏾
I’ve started I’ve redone the same part of my hair 4 times because I just don’t like it, and now I’m starting to realise my parts are still too big but it’s very hard to tell, did you notice your twists changing size while they were locking? I don’t know if the size of the twist I’m seeing now ( not when I’m tugging on it, because it looks one size when I’m stretching it out by holding it and then another when I let it go it shrinks up and puffs out)will be the size of the formed loc. but I do worry about going smaller because of tension and weight, I don’t wanna be dealing with breakage or anything
i responded on instagram as well but im sure that the size of the part is the size your mature locs will be, at least thats what ive heard. im still very early into my journey so my locs arent mture just yet 🤎
Hi did you start the twist from the root or braided it in three and continued with two strand? Love your hair by the way. Hoping mine turns out nice too ☺️
Beautiful!! Did you blow out your hair before you started your twist? Also did you go back and interlock them? If so what point rotation did you use? Thanks sis 😊
@@dahdah954 2 point- you entered the loc in the same 2 directions (north ⬇️ & west➡️ for example) 3 point- 3 directions etc etc. from what i understand they can give you different results & certain rotations are better for certain hair types. i’m going to try and find the name of the book that other loc queens have recommended for more info.
I keep doing two strand twists and trying to save up money to get them done. A part of me wants to treat myself and pay for it. The other part want to do it myself cause life keeps lifeing!!!! Lol. But how far down do you braid before twisting?
I believe that’s what she did. I’m getting microlocs at the end of the month and because I want to start with 2 strand twist my loctician will braid at the root then twist.
I’m a little unclear about the very first section you did ear to ear. Then you pre-parted into five cornrows. Did you end up adjusting the amount of cornrows?
Beautifully done sis! I know you mentioned that you didn't use a grid pattern but can you recommend what technique you used to part the sections for each loc? The sizes looked so uniformed. I want to attempt to do my own microlocs but parting is my biggest struggle 😭😫
Hi. I love your micro locks. I’m ready to start the journey as well but I don’t have the patience. I like how you were able to do it in parts and also at your convenience using the 2 strand method. After twisting the hair in two, do you do anything to it, or does it naturally lock itself over time.
hi, thank you! after installing the twists i interlocked them using a 2 point rotation. to maintain my locs overtime i interlock every 5-8 weeks. my hair naturally locks overtime but i do have to do maintenance every now and then.
@@queentyquanaHello! I love how you did your on micro locks and I ready to start my journey as well. When you say maintenance, do you mean maintenance on the part that is twisted and if so do you just take it down and re-twist the part that is twisted?
I wanted to see how you parted the the front of your hair as well. I started mines a month ago but pull them out. About to do them back again but am looking for a good parting style. I don't really like the grid pattern.
i’d say go for it. just try to do as much research as you can before starting. i ended up having to braid some of my short pieces around my edges instead of two strand twist.
Hey love! I’ve been studying your videos and I’m ready to start my journey. Just a question about the Murray’s Loc Lock vs the Loc N Gel. Which do I use to start my locs? Does it matter? How do you use? Just a little on your hand as you twist? At the scalp? I’m a little lost on the how there. Also once I two strand twist and interlock. I’m assuming I should just be wearing a bonnet nightly and not washing or manipulating for a month. Idk when is the right time to touch/style.
hi beautiful, congratulations on starting your journey!! i’d suggest using the murray’s loc gel or something similar to that consistency for your twists. i just used a little as i was twisting down just to give the twist a little hold. i didn’t put any on my scalp. yes, wear your bonnet nightly and i waited 4 weeks before washing with shampoo but i didn’t spritz my hair daily. try not to manipula your hair a lot especially while it is wet because this will cause your twists to unravel.
Ok I have EVERYTHING now… but I paused. I have 2 more trips this year. I am a fish and live in the ocean . Last trip ends 12/5. I was thinking I should wait until I come back so that my hair can have at least 6 months untouched before my next vacation •. Thoughts? My first is in 9 weeks.
@@summerwillow4178 hm if you plan to get them wet often while vacationing id wait unless you plan on braiding your starters together and letting them dry in the braids every time (braid and band)
thank youu! & yes that’s the right mindset it may take a while but you’ll enjoy the results. i use a little murray’s twist gel, the water based one. you got this!
I plan on starting mine soon. I have a few questions plz answer if you can 😊. Did you use any products like grease or anything? 2nd did you braid the beginning on the loc a little then twist the rest ( I couldn’t tell). Last, you completed all the locs then wen back and interlocked? Thank you this will help so much
hi! i did use a little of murray’s twist gel when installing my twist. i didn’t braid the roots i just twisted them all the way down and interlocked once i was done installing all of the twists (the next day). wishing you the best on your journey 🤎
Did you just two strand them or did you also interlock them? I am in the process of doing mine myself and not sure if I want or should interlock them. You’re hair is cute and inspiring
i twisted and then interlocked once i install the twists. only interlock if your 100% set on the size of your starters. if not 100% you can just rock your twists to see if there’s anything you want to change
It good I loved how it turned out I didn’t want them too small but not to big because I know they still have to thicken up…..wondering if I should keep my curly ends or what 🤦🏾♀️
