Something you said at the end of your video got my wheels turning, I think it would be cool to have a mining map with no designated "mines" per se, but several areas one could mine and then have TerraFarm randomize the discharge based on location. In essence, you'd have to speculate around the map to find the high-paying areas, saturated with paydirt, then mine in those areas to make your money. Great video, Argsy!
Yeah I had that idea as well, perhaps a soil map type setting for Terrafarm where you could define gravel, sand, dirt, pay dirt, iron ore. Wonder if that is possible????
Brilliant idea guys. What if you used geology-based clues in the map (and through changes in the surface appearance) to indicate where gold is likely to be found, a nod to @kieranleopold9115 idea of speculation?

Struggled to get both the wash plant and the wash room on Elk Mountain to accept diesel, thanks for suggesting the Buy Production Input mod workaround.
Fun fact. 1000 liters of gold would actually be worth around 1.4 billion US dollars. 1000 liters of gold is 681,493 ounces. Current gold price is around $2,000 per ounce. I get that the economy has to be balanced, but the price for gold seems low. maybe the gold ratio in the paydirt is too high so the modder balanced it by lowering the price for gold? I don't even know how to look that up. If my math is wrong, someone please correct me, I'm not an expert, just did a quick internet search. Either way, looks fun, I'll probably mess with it a bit.
Wonder if anyone could help, i downloaded the pack and the terraform mode but the excavators will not dig at all? Am i doing something wrong as i followed the video and still no luck

You wouldn't mind making a video about how setting up autodrive/course for mining? Can't find any videos of it. Also I'm on the yukon map got the mods installed but not getting up that terra menu you are showing, you recon its a map problem? another thing is also that hire workers only do 'follow me' or 'go to' they can't do anything else
Take a look at my Elk Mountain Mining series, I had a whole chain of autodrive set up for mining in that one. Sorry can't help with the terrafarm issues.
I need help ive been trying to get everything needed to mine for about 5 hours now and finally get it to work. But when i got to meterials its just blank shows nothing and I can't seem to find pay dirt anywhere
I have these mods and there awesome, but what mod are you using for your pickup truck? Most of the RAM truck mods can't be modified like the one you had.

I think there was an update to the map since this version which caused some issues around that - the modder released another map update about a month ago, I think I shared a link to that on my facebook page
May you clear something up for me, I didn't know the location of elk mountain being in Wyoming so I heard everywhere about elk mountain map to get, it's the elk mountain Wyoming correct? Was like 500 and something mb, looks the same, look forward to playing on this map!!!
Excellent video man! But can you tell me wich joystick are you using? 1 or 2? For the excavator, because I wanna setup 1 logitech extreme 3d pro for the bucket and boom and normal controller using the analog for swing and stick but is not detecting properly the bucket movement, did you use any program to set it up?? And inside the game did you just set them up for the crane?
I have dual thrustmaster T16000m joysticks. Took some trial and error to map the controls, have based the inputs on a Cat excavator. The commands depend on how mods are made with not all having the same control inputs for arms etc

How did you move the terrafarm output option from the left as its in the farmsim guy video to te upper right? Is it the bucket that makes that or a setting? Great vid
argsy, can you please do a revisit to gold mining and please explain how to get gold from the productions on pallets? it spawns as a single, small jar of gold flake, and one individual gold bar instead of on pallets, which is just a massive pain in the **** coz it takes forever to load it etc. iv asked fs miner, the squad and more several times, iv asked on many fb pages and still not a single answer how to they are doing it!
@@ArgsyGaming all good bruv, managed to sort it..must have been a conflicting file from another gold mining mod i had, removed it and problem solved :)
Make sure you are changing it in the section for the discharge material, not the paint material - also make sure dirt is a fill type on the map you are using (if not Elk Mountain)
@@ArgsyGaming Cheers mate, but worked out it doesn't work on multiplayer with any other materials other than stone (at the moment) For anyone else who runs into this issue on multiplayer, this seems to be why. Keep an eye on TerraFarm releases to see if it's sorted with future releases
Can you use any old map for terrafarm and still get the productions with the mod buildings for gold, gravel and the other fills?? Or do I have to use these new terra farm ready maps?
The map needs to have the fill types included to use, terrafarm won't add it. So stones are a default material but anything like gold etc would need to be in the map
Hey not sure what I did wrong I edited the bucket for the komatsu w900 to be able to lift more(volume) and now in game it doesn't give me an option to use terra mod with it, first thing I've ever edited, any advice? Thanks
Looks so fun! I’ve been trying all day but I can’t get the terra farm zip to convert over to FS22. I drug the file into the mod file of fs 22 and still can’t get it. If anyone has a tip for me
did you download from either the github for terrafarm, or from FS Miners link for ver4? There are a few versions floating around on the less reputable sites which are causing some issues
Terrafarm should be useable on any PC map, but not all the fill types such as gold, tailings, gravel, sand will be available unless added in to the map.
You certainly can - Elk Mountain has the wash plant, smelter and cleaning sheds as placeables, so could go prospecting and create your own mine somewhere else if you wanted :) I think you can find some placeable versions as well which could be added in to other maps
I was using the Thrustmaster T16.000m at this stage, but have since upgraded and have both the Thrustmaster farmstick and the Hori Vehicle Controls - haven't tried any mining with either yet though so not sure how thats going to go!
@@ArgsyGaming I had a different one but I must have installed it wrong into my folder because I couldn't activate but I went through uninstall and reinstall and now it is working
@@natemihalko9289 look for the washplant in placeables folder in elkmountain zip - look for capacity in the storage part of the code and edit it to your liking
So 1000L of gold in real world prices should actually be closer to 1.2 billion (breakdown 1L of gold = 19.28kgs x 1000 = 19,280 kgs × $61000 a kgs = $1,176,000,000 ... think they are a little off 🤣🤣🤣 ... excellent post though cant wait to start mining to support my farm 😬
