Idk they are hitting pretty hard. This beat is designed to have vocals on it though, so the beat isn't taking up 100% of the audio space. If it was a trap beat to be released on it's own, it would have hard drums and 808s because there is no need to leave space for vocals@@johawnn
Fl studio runs from the Chanel rack to the plugin to the mixer. Digital is just like analog -18 so turning down the volume in the the instruments are still going into the plugins to hot. That’s how it’s routed
Definitely helped me understand more. Im always doubting my mixes but this was clear cut info. I also noticed you didnt use compression as much. Impressive.
Cuz u shouldn’t Michael Jackson’s mixing engineer said he barley uses compressor if u know how to get the recording or instrument right with volume and it’s tru I’ve made beats without using compressor plus I hate compressor
Hey, it depends on the pack. Most of our free packs require an email to download. In that case, log into that email on your computer and the link will be there.
So what about the people that don't use fruity loops? I personally use MPC program so this kinda helps but doesn't fully explain how I could do all his in that
i think it's all good ,except for the processing on hi hats, I would change the velocity more and reverb to make them more realistic and not that reverbered
I'm new to selling beats and I have only put 2 up at the moment . I'm a little stuck atm. Should I mix and master the beat and drop the wav / stems down -6db Or do I mix my chanells and leave the master to an engineer or someone to buy my beats
So I recommended the master being at -6db before adding a maximizer/compressor. 99.9% of artists will be fine with your mix, as long as you follow these steps. If they aren't happy, tell them to buy the trackouts lol.
aint no way bro cranked the post gain on the clipper all the way up and pulled threshold all the way down...on the master. lmao don't do that. compress and if needed, soft clip your drums on their own mixer inserts or send samples to a bus if you have a lot of drums...then compress your melodies on their own mixer inserts or bus....then you can put a soft clipper on the master along with a limiter/compressor to increase overall loudness without having an insane amount of gain reduction affecting the master. soft clippers are better used to assist compressors and limiters with harsh transient peaks from the source signal and to round out gain reduction and ultimately get more loudness out of a signal. you don't need make up gain at all with a clipper. you use compressors and limiters. the only time you would even "need" a soft clipper on the master is if you are trying to squeeze an extra .5 to 1.5 LUFS without distortion before the signal hits the master compressor(s) OR if one of the samples in your mix has harsh transients. some good tips here...especially gain staging and sample selection which are very important....but also some oversight. ggs tho.
Have your final levels pretty low so the maximiser/clipper has room to work. Go through and remix the layers one by one as many times as you need, to get a mix your happy with.
@@LegacyBeats thank you! also, my sounds don't clash but my mix is usually pretty harsh and so i always get parametric eq 2 and put a 7 db cut on the 670hz and 3500hz , it sounds fairly clean but i feel like it takes away some of the life of the beat but i can't make it not harsh any way else, any tips ?
It was a long long time ago on an older version of ozone. It was on like a long cookup video on stream, or one of those videos were he makes like 2 beats in 10 minutes. I tried to find it but I can't.
My beat was mastered with the way i've been doing it (self taught) and it was prob my best, i removed the presets and all of my own mixing to get a better mix and this video completely ruined it! thanks for ruining my beat!
If it was your best beat with your best mix, changing it for another strategy is your fault. Either way I stand by this strategy you just need to do it properly
I usually raise it an octave and check to make sure. It followed the notes of the melody so it sounds fine. But I may have been able to find better root notes.
Most platinum producers especially those who make trap beats are actually pretty ass at mixing and barely understand the software, they just send it to professional mixing engineers to get it to sound good
not even tho, nobody has shown you the correct way so far i promise. It's hidden, gatekept, some guy leaked it like a week ago tho xD look up "PIERRE BOURNE MIXING SAUCE ALEXMADEIT" thank me later ;)
I have had one other person say that. I followed the notes of the melody but I should have raised it a few octaves and triple checked. I was in a rush when filming
@@LegacyBeats Oh yeah they are everywhere. I've got every conceivable version of the 808 sound in my sample files. Since they all sound like farts it's hard for me to tell if I got any repeats. Know what I mean? Been really checking out trap rhythms lately. I might have a sub for 808s that I like. Others might. Not likely.
you'd be surprised, ever heard of pierre bourne? He uses fl studio and mixes way better than southside or metro, some guy just leaked his shit too look up "PIERRE BOURNE MIXING SAUCE ALEXMADEIT" thank me later ;)
There’s lots in this video including levelling, EQ, and adding a maximiser of compression. The soft clipper was just one of the potential strategies, and the end result was pretty good
