Hey Amy, I'm watching from Tennessee as well. Thanks for sharing this video, I've been kinda stuck in a rut with the waxes. I'm new to mixed media and you're the first person to say anything about the plastic in the acrylic paint. I now know how to mix the wax correctly!! ❤️

I absolutely love that you were the first video to pop up when I asked if you could use mica in wax.question can it be added to paste wax as well? Also how about faux tin tiles? Mine are made of styrofoam. I know spray paint and spray adhesive melts them. And can the waxes be used over latex paint?

Brush or roll water based primer onto the styrofoam, make sure you get good coverage front back and sides. Let it dry thoroughly after each coat. Then after 2nd or 3rd coat dries completely overnight, you can use any spray paint, epoxy resin, gilding or paste wax, or glaze without worry of the styrofoam dissolving. Just be careful not to puncture through the primer coat, or if you have to cut it or something, you will need to seal it up again.

hi, you provided such priceless information and techniques, i want to ask that either the liquid carnauba wax like collinite no.845 can be used to protect and further making of mettalic waxes can be used or not?, although its an automobile wax but can be used as an option?

Probably too late, but you can buy pearl mica powders and mix them with something that is a light colored hard wax, something bit a bit of carnuba wax in it. Think hard wax used on cars/shoes/furniture. That's what am doing since rub n buff isn't available in India either.

I painted a table in derby brown want to use cheeta stencil. May I use copper mica and beeswax to stencil ?

You won't be able to use a custom wax in combination with the stencil, but you could definitely make your design with a paint medium and then go back over it with the wax afterward!

What is the difference between mica powders and pigment powders?

The main difference between Pigment Powder and Mica Powder is their shine. Pigment Powders are matte while Mica Powders are shimmery. You are left with a beautiful glow when you use Mica Powder. Mica Powders are also very versatile and can be used for an assortment of different projects.
