Good stuff. I have been trying to help a buddy understand this process, and this is a video I reference to folks. Many drum tutorials on YT are digital drums, so thanks for doing the work!
just watched part 1 and wanna give a shoutout for how comprehensive this 2 part series is. i’m still learning how to record, mix and eq drums but have been drumming for like a really long time. set up a Digital Reference mic kit on my 3-piece Stage Customs going into Behringer UMC1820 (after having purchased an 8 ch. mixer thinking i could magically track drums into laptop with just that lol). 2 overheads, snare, hi tom, lo tom, bass drum. still debating where to place left over dynamic mic. bottom snare? hi hat? inside/outside bass drum? need to figure out how to adjust latency and playback while recording cuz i had to record with just track so i couldn’t hear my drums live as i was recording them. anyway, sorry to ramble. this video set is really great for peeps looking to do this on their own. especially drummers looking to have their own setup. stay hydrated. peace
