Really helpful Gee! I'd searched for a video on mica pigment use and mixing and they were all really long and not concise as yours! Thank you! Many blessings to you.

You make it look so easy. I’m trying to use the cell technique sanded and cleaned wooden signs. This week I’m on my 80th wood sign and only had a couple achieve a few cells and some lacing? I have tried many of the ways you suggested. I like your show the best because you explain right to the point. I certainly don’t get bored with the content you share.

I really appreciate your videos because they're the best for How-To stuff. Also for no-frills explanations. Other artists are skillful and nice but I don't always want to know what they're gonna have for dinner or what their dog did yesterday, etc. Sometimes I just want to know how to do something and that's when I come to this channel. :) I needed to get tips from a couple of artists to mix pigments because I need specific measurements for everything. I can't do "add a little bit of pigment to a little bit of this other stuff". I don't have a feel for any of this yet. I may never get that type of feel for it. Between this video and one from Tomoko, I think I managed to get a decent recipe. So, here's what I came up with. 1/4 tsp of pigment 5g of Polycrylic Mix these 2 parts up until the powder is gone. This seems to help keep the colors from dulling?? 20g of PM (3parts untinted base paint+ 1 part Polycrylic). Mix it all together and it's done. This works for me because it's easily repeatable. I made some nice coasters with these paints so I guess it works? Next up is to figure out a good CA recipe. I've tried some simpler ones but haven't had much luck yet. Yours has the most ingredients to it, so I'm saving it for last because I'm lazy. lol

hi Gee- thx for this video. tell me pls...I heard one artist comment that she used isopropyl rubbing alcohol as a dispersint for her pigments. Everyone else seems to use varnish. CAN you use alcohol? what affect would that have? Thx!😊
@GeePours
@GeePours 2 года назад
Well the problem with isopropyl is that it evaporates very quickly - and pigments dont actually dissolve, they are suspended in an emulsion. Alcohol is not a binder, so what you’ll likely see happen is the pigment will separate over night and the mix will thicken.

Very informative and happy to sub, but what the f**** is "Q paint"? Queue paint? I have no idea but I really really want to know. Thanks in advance if anyone would be so kind as to clue me in.

but why you wouldn't use a clear coat then? so you can maintain your mica powder vibrancy.....weird
@GeePours

Simple really - i dont waste clear coat on tutorial video tile paintings that were never meant to be sold.

@@GeePours another good idea would be to use clear coat with acrylic inks or even candy dyes, that would be insane
