Jens you’re such a bad ass. Owner of a rev e rectifier and this is definitely the closest thing to the real deal by far. I’d be curious to have a bass plug-in from you. The low end in your mixes is incredible
I got a sweet lead sound out of this plugin with a Tube Screamer in front of it and an added delay as post efx. It sounded absolutely sweet. I wish you would make such a plugin from your Diezel VH-4 amp too if you’re an avid channel 3 user. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
I was not a rectifier lover, 'till this. I tried it two weeks ago, and I had to buy it instantly. It has an amazing sound, incredibly near to its real gear. And I have to do pretty nothning (but a bit of eq or compression, maybe, in some cases) to make it sound brutal in the mix. It's, by far, the best plugin I have purchased along this year, and one of the best in my life, really. I recomend it 100%. Thanks, Jeff
I like the concept but not the amp itself, hope you`ll make more of this, I`d buy a one knob Engl Savage/Invader or something like this. The more the better. Dual Rectumfryer doesn`t fit any of my scenarios lol but the tech is really state of art, so it`s cool!
I love this plug in. I just wish I knew how to make my home mixes sound full and beefy. So for now, it’ll be my new go to plug in for pop punk, it’s worth the buy everyone!
Using it on some stuff coming out next month. I manipulated it heavily but for whatever reason it takes the changes well. Better than most sims as a matter of fact. Nice work Jens. I look forward to the next chapter or knob as it were.
Got the demo and purchased after 5 minutes ...tried through the Celestion Speaker Shaper and I've found the holy grail. I'll try also the bass version now 🙂
Great video showing the range of control and how it can be applied in various music. I actually liked the lead tone I got using ampknob as well just adding some effects to make it sing a little and stand out from the rhythm guitars.
My trial ends tomorrow...definitely going to purchase, used it dry in the Bogren Digital May Riff Contest and it sits real nice in the mix! Just needs some EQing and post FX to suit my tastes.
I really like this concept. Aside from hoping you do the same with more amp models, I’d love to be able to use different IRs with it. Thanks for your massive contribution to music, Jens.
Been trialing this to work on composing guitar-based music away from home, and it's been a blessing. I wish it could load IRs itself, but otherwise, can't complain at all and I love the Mesa Recto sound. Pretty much the best sounding Recto plugin I've tried to date, too :)
Awesome plug in , have downloaded the trial version , it took 1 minute riff to convince me, will absolutely buy it actually sounds better than Neural out of the box which i had forced to use your IR to make it sound better. Now you should release One Knob for bass guitar also , it would be awesome. Cheers!
In principle a good idea, I think. With another (more British voiced) amp with better harmonics reproduction than a Recti offers. Like eg. a Savage, VH-4 or 5150.
Sounds absolutely freakin' massive dude! My fav Mesa amp I've ever had a lengthy hands on with tho? Was an old school Mesa Single Rectifier 50. Possibly one of THE G.O.A.T. sounding amps I've ever experienced first hand TBH, especially after it got a proper capacitor service and pre/power shotguned glass replacement. I will admit tho, after that initial experience? I've had a love/hate relationship with Dual or Triple Rects. Even tho my absolute "dream tone" has always been the "The Color & Shape" early Foo (Dual Rect/AC30) sound. Grohl used a (rare) Hydra splitter live tho, and I have YET to find a single or series of plugins that can convincingly get me within that ballpark! I will say this, the One Knob Rev C?! Get's me half way there "in the box" with effortlessly MINIMAL work in post. Bravo Amigo! Cheers!
Not sure how you will eventually get other ampknobs through but when you do please create a sampler where we can use these knobs together... Something like a STL Tones amp hub. That would be a dream! Your knowledge with todays technology will a combination that cannot be overlooked!
@@jensbogren4943 having the plugins as a suite together would make sense. It would be easy to swap amp models within the plugin interface like changing presets.
I tested the plugin. I have a specific sound in Guitar Rig that I always use to record. I replaced the guitar rig with oneknob and it sounds just as fat as before. A useful plugin!
Hey Jens, would love to be able to use your IR pack with this plugin, any chance you'll have an update to either disable the IR, or have a built in IR loader to swap out the IR? A built-in tuner would make this the complete package to plug in and start recording. Cheers!
I hope to see a mark series version of this! Killer sounding plugin, but too loose and lacks attack(like a rectifier usually) for my purposes. Mark series would cover up the mesa stuff along with this rev C!
I downloaded this now. I´m not that good with computer-shit (I´m 48, lol), and have been struggling with getting good sound in cubase (sooo many plugins, with thousands of knobs and possible combinations, I was going crazy). This made everything sooo much simpler for an older guy, used to using just three things - amphead, cabinet and a couple of pedals.
This plugin sounds great, but I'm wondering why it doesn't containt the REC and metronome functions liek the other in the series? I love those features!
We will be bringing the recorder, metronome, and IR loader in and it’s almost done. Right now we’re wrapping up work on our new plugin coming out today, and we can jump back into RevC and Bassknob in September. Cheers
I know metal is your thing, but if you release something that is more versatile (for ex a nice fender reverb, a supro, or marshall bluesbreaker type sound), I'm gonna be all over it. For now I'll just have to be content with having solved all my bass needs with your oneknob std
I like to use the amp knobs as a base sound for my tone and then use my own IRs, EQ, compression, etc. The “everybody is going to sound the same myth” can be avoided this way.
The plugin comes with that! To unlock this feature, launch the plugin daily and practice through it at least for 10 minutes. The skills will start adding up over time. 😁
Let's keep it simple ...Bogren AmpKnob + Ignite Libra IR loader (8) + Bogren mix ready IR (be they Clean, Lead, Rythm or Downtuned) and there you go ...then you can add the rest and it's incredible. Thanks Jens Bogren ...I was almost writing Bogner 🙂
It’s a personal choice but stereo mode can be limiting when you want to make some adjustments to just the left guitar, for example. Can you tell us more why changing to stereo mode is problematic in your setup? It shouldn’t be more than two clicks by default.
Why don't you show us the actual (post) processing on the Aux-Tracks, that you are sending the Guitars to? What about Mixbus Processing? I have the plugin, there is no whay that this is just out of the box.
Nothing is hidden. At @1:10 you can see Bus 51/52 goes to Out 13-14, which is the audio interface. We have a free trial because hearing is believing. :) bogrendigital.com/products/ampknob-revc
There is no processing on the guitars. There are some on the full mix, half a dB of EQ or so. If you have the plugin, tailor your mix around it and off you go, sir. I created the sound of the plugin by testing it in loads of my sessions just like this. If I wanted it to sound different I would have made it different.
@@jensbogren4943 "Sir" I get it. So to get one or two things out of the way - I am one admittedly little shit (actually true) and I truly admire your work on many albums that I love. Most respect for that. It is not my intention to pee on your pedigree or your credibility as an engineer or producer. How possibly could I? I am just a dick from the internet. Either way - I have been mixing a whole bunch of tracks myself during the past years and I can confirm that the One Knob Plugin is indeed great. It has a great tone, tight low end, not too much 400 crap, good presence and a convenient high-end roll-off. If you will, the initial voicing is both catering to "sit in the mix" and to "cut through the mix" as well. The plugin is A LOT better than many chains like using a pedal from that manufacurer, an Amp from those guys and then another IR loader from a third company. That knob makes A LOT of sense and sounds great, no fuzz about that! But hey, who mixes "around" the guitar tone? Really? Do you really do that? Nevertheless, there IS post processing on the clips, I mean you are actually saying it in the video. "I could have added some EQ", "I could have added some transistor saturation and high shelf"..... This is what you actually did. This is what it sounds like. Why don't pick the approach - this is the - great! - Plugin I made - and here are a few examples how to tweak it in one or the other direction? And finally: half a dB on the full mix? Really? And if so - I'd assume that this would be something worth to disclose. Because many little fanboys will be very, very disappointed that "their version" of the Mix Knob ain't gonna cut it like yours!
