Bro-thank you so much for the in-depth walkthrough!!! You're a legend. It's hard to find good free resources on this topic. I just got a 360 cam (already have the Zoom VR mic too) and look forward to applying your lessons in some of my upcoming experiments!
Thanks for sharing. I trying to make my spatial audio for youtube, but when I upload the file, youtube decoder is weird, low frequency go to Left. And I try to fix it now.
is metadata injector needed when 360 video and ambisonic audio formats encoded with FB360 encoder plug-in for youtube or facebook uploading? Or else FB360 encoder allready adding metadata to files when encoding? Thanks.
Great video thank you!! In case it helps anyone else - I had a problem where Premiere kept interpreting my 4-channel WAV ambisonic track as 4 individual tracks - I fixed this by selecting the clip then right-clicking and choosing Modify > Audio Channels. I then set the clip channel format to Adaptive (it had been mono) with 4 active channels per clip, and made sure all 4 Media Source channels were checked.
Thanks a lot! Stupid question but: What about Quest 3? There are many players that don't support spatial audio → should I then export the audio track as binaural or will this not work too? And if it works, could I export that on a second audio track (as it is commonly used for languages but this time I want to use it for one real ambix track and one binaural one)? Thanks a lot!
Do you know if there are any plugins that allow you to monitor the ambisonics in a surround speaker array (as opposed to the Resonance plugin doing the binaural monitoring)? My current setup is 5.1 so I think if I use the decoders it's going to send the ambisonics to L, R, C and LFE but I'd want those four ambisonics channels to go to L, R, Ls and Rs. Thanks for the awesome video!
Thank you for this great video. It has helped me a lot. I have now published a 360° video with Ambisonics on YT myself. The problem: When I rotate the 360 video, the sound does not rotate with it. This problem occurs on my Windows PC, my iPhone and my Android mobile phone. But it works perfectly on my Android tablet. Do you have any idea what the problem could be?
RU-vid's support for spatial audio is a bit inconsistent, and it seems like they've been dropping support on certain platforms. As far as I can tell, it should work on Chrome on Windows, and in the official app on any mobile device when using headphones.
