I’ve got an 06’ E90 325i and I highly recommend people focus on reliability with our cars. Focus on getting to 300k with your N52 Engine rather than pulling an extra 30hp. However, you should do all of the cosmetic upgrades, you can make these cars look and sound sick; 1) Spyder 3D LED Halo Projectors 2) Smoked Neon brake lights 3) Magnaflow Exhaust 4) VIPMotoz black LED turn indicators 5) BMW Roof Rack system 6) Drilled and Slotted Rotors with Ceramic Brake Pads 7) Bilstein Coilovers 8) aFe Power air scoops Red 9) Carbon Fiber replacement accents 10) LED replacement lights You get the idea
Sure he is... he's on RU-vid where the inexperienced become experienced master mechanics overnight. It drives me crazy to see people do this... it's like admit you don't know what the hell you're talking about because you have never even used many of the mods you talk about. Or even worse... when someone makes a diy video on something that they're doing for their first time... and it's usually something that already has detailed diy videos. It ends up just making it harder to find quality sources and guides. The internet has been over saturated with noobs trying to teach noobs as other noobs chime in and give their noob opinion based solely on their imagination.
The intake manifold upgrade is only for the 328i(n52), it has a single stage manifold. But if you take the 3 stage manifold from the 330i(n52) you can make around 40-50 horsepower over stock.
BMS Power Box: I have it installed on my 2008 128i, and I would 100% recommend it. It adds a ton of noticeable power and torque. I do have to agree with Nour in that you should make sure you have good quality spark plugs and other smaller parts because the power box does change the power delivery by a lot, and cheap parts may not be able to handle it well.
@@deepdhillon9409 I got afe cold air intake, active autowerk header, Magnaflow catback and a Active auto tune. Making about 250hp from the original 230hp. The final number also depends on the machine they used to test, but 250 - 260 is about it.
I did them all. except for the little plug in booster. If you do 3 stage manifold, euro air box and active headers with a good tune it is a completely different car
The best set up I think for 328 is the turner motorsport tune, the afe air intake stage 2 with carbon and then the Bmw performance exhaust!! These are the best performance parts u can have for your money... That s the set up I have been running and it's amazing!!
A lot of people overlook this, but if you have a certain combination (ie for me I have a manual 328) you can find a different rear end for reasonably cheap at a junkyard off like an automatic 328 or an all wheel drive auto 328 to get a different gear ratio. You might lose fuel economy ever so slightly and your very top speed might go down (although I don't spend much time at 130 lmao) but it's an easy way to get a bit more punch and acceleration.
Nour Hummadi I have a 328i stock and automatic my friend has a stock 535xi I drove his and damn it’s a hell of a lot better ik it’s the turbo but am I just ducked and will never be able to beat him in a race?😂😂
I can relate to the intake. On my e39 540i 6spd which has a m62b44tu v8. This engine for some reason smaller intake runners or tubes. Older 540i with m60b40 engine bigger intake runners. So I swapped it with older intake and older v8 headers . Cats removed. A huge difference. Stock 289 hp it feels like 320hp plus. I will dyno test it. But the point is. Intake makes a massive difference 😎
It'd be nice if you give us some references for this info. I'm not calling BS or anything, but I would be very surprised if even a full exhaust with headers would boost 25 whp. But 60-80 is a little tough to believe. The science behind the cold air intakes just isn't there to support gains over 2-3 hp, certainly not over 10 hp. Maybe if you upgraded the intake to a 330, cold air intake with ram air vents, a full exhaust with headers, and reprogramming the computer you MIGHT hit 60 hp total gains at the wheel. I don't think the 328i has much more to offer short of supercharging. That being said, if anyone has just got ON IT in their 328i and felt it was doggy, then there's something wrong with your car. These are not too shabby bone stock. Suspension, that's where the fun is. Make that little car handle like it's on rails! What a blast.
328i isn’t made for performance the N52 is fairly reliable then the 335i N54 which is more for performance friendly then the 328i. For the 328i i’ll just give it nice wheels, put newer head and tail lights, fix and update the interior and give it a better exhaust. But for guys looking for A-B car, the 328i E90 or E92 is fairly reliable if you can do the mechanical maintenance and knowledge on it yourself. If you’re a performance guy go for a 335i completely. If you are neither, i advise you too see if your wallet can support either car (especially 335i) but both cars drive beautifully smooth and if you love bimmers go for it. Just be aware and have your knowledge, all cars last long if you take care of it.
I really wish the NA 325I was a cable throttle instead of electronic 🙄 I hate to spending 300 plus bucks for a throttle respond mod 😳🙄 that doesn't even gain any HP, just changes the driving dynamic. Honestly the best mod you can do is drop a cheap turbo or supercharger or procharger in it. A tune for it it only 300 at a decent Dyno shop.... How can I get in contact with you?? New BMW owner but been building mustangs and trucks since I was 17.
Obviously it doesn't make sense to tune e90 328i since price of 335i is about the same (reliability issues) BUT what if I have a 328i Wagon. They don't sell 335i wagon in U.S. So it only make sense to tune it if you have a Wagon.
SebastianAsian I have an e90 right now but I'm about to get an e91 wagon when I'm at college. I plan to maybe just do a bit of cosmetic (wheels, maybe some front bumper and side skirt kit), do an exhaust and intake. It's really just not worth power modding a 328, which sucks because the wagons look sweet.
I'm not one to complain but you are very inaccurate on your information just bolting an intake on is not going to do anything more than make noise you need a pro tune and any exhaust mods you do again will do nothing without a tune the exhaust mods without a tune will light up your dash like a Christmas tree
All the things you said you might be lucky if you get +20hp, just shaving the head gives you +50hp an it's like $600 and shaving the head it's gonna increase combustion pressure so if you do the exhaust you might get +10hp
If you want an e90 for speed, 328's, 325's, and 330's are not the way to go. Get a 335. They're faster stock, have better suspension, etc. They are also way better for tuning/modding, as adding just a tuner like a JB4 or Cobb Accessport can add gains of up to 60-70 HP. It can also add quite a bit to 328's too, and those spark plugs going are because the tuner is sending more fuel to the injectors to make more power, which is fowling the plugs. Any tuner will do that, especially if you're trying to get a lot of power from it. You have to run index 12 injectors and better spark plugs to get those numbers I mentioned before. Making things go fast isn't cheap. They can have their problems, though. If you want a good, comfortable zippy car that you don't have to have as many headaches about, then definitely get a 328. If you want performance and speed, get the 335.
Hello 325xi and its awd and thinking of just doing a supercharger theyre 5k but ik mines awd so ill need slicks cause supercharged awd gonna eat up my tires
I got bmw 328i I think I’m get 330i manifold gain some horse power and tune up I also seen a eBay turbo kit for 328i im wonder if I got change the manifold again there manifold that ones with the eBay kit 🤔
You guys got any advise for a 2.8 Z3? I only make 190 horsepower, but with an intake as my only mod under the hood, it feels pretty quick, but still feels as though it's lacking, but not by much. Would doing any or all of these bring up my power gains to put me around a 5 second 0-60? (My current 0-60 is 6 seconds btw)
@DilF82 I believe you bro, the handling is super awesome and no other car can compete.I remember taking a corner so tight against this wack ass mustang that all the fuckin hp in the world couldn't help him
This doesn't really make any sense. For the cost of these mods you could trade your car in and pay the difference to bump up to a 330 or 335. And be be 120hp up from the non turbo. Not to mention be on a better platform in general for future mods.
Am I the only one thinking for the price of all this crap you could get a cheap turbo kit, low boost, still get quite a bit more power and still run stock internals?🤣
Yes the muffler shop is your best bet. Ask them for exhaust tips and designs. Also look at online shops, make sure they fit the dimensions of your pipes before proceeding to decisions.
There are many different things that can be done and reasonable cheap to do it. My 330i M sport package I have 345 Hp coming out of it according to the Dyno I can send a list of all the tips tricks and mods I've done also post my car On the Dyno showing what it's making
I thought our n52 330 couldn't make that much specific of a gain..... you can get the bmw performance air intake and it gives you 3 hp the bmw performance exhaust gives you 5 hp and the chip will give you 12 to 16 hp. The 325 and 328 give you more hp gain on these n52 mods than the 330. also you could reduce the weight by replacing lighter wheels for more hp. Also I thought the 330 already had a stage 3 intake also on those websites that sell the twisted headers it says you'll get error codes....
I dropped the spare wheel in my garage and bought new rims and tyres. Massive improvement no other crap nescessary. For what I need it is more than ok. I do occasionally consider a hood and trunk swap in the future to get some weight off again but that would be just for fun since I don't really need more power anymore :)
Cause the stage 3 manifold comes from the 330 and gives gains to the 328 and others that don’t have it. The 330 is already maxed HP compared to the 328 and whatever else.
M performance is the best sounding, but you want to do deletes, first do muffler delete see if you like it, then do muffler+ resonator, see if you like that too.
Not to bash on your video bruah, but next time you do a video like this at least read up do some reaserch amd THEN make the video suggesting what we should and shouldnt get! Thumbs up either way!
All love here bro, but I'm waiting on that part 2. My 08 e93 328i is currently in the shop getting painted orange and blacking out a lot too ! Plan on doing some reasonable engine mods for it. As for now she only really has a muffler delete. Lmk any suggestions!
Are headers worth it ? Little worried that I'm dumping lots of money into this car when I could of got a 335. At the same time though I need something reliable and a good daily, I originally chose the 328 to be more practical but I've been getting smoked a lot but hey that's not what it's all about ! Also got it because I couldn't find any with less than 50K miles with a manual transmission + convertible. However I've been piling miles on it since I got it close to 54K now.
is it such a hard way to increase a horsepower to be equal with G35/350z then I should go and buy those g35 or 350.... that make more sense. anyway thanks for a good topic on youtube.
Shabbathehutt honestly man I would try and get afe branded stage one unless you already have custom headers, then stage 2. Otherwise the official branded bmw performance intake is amazing and looks great just cost a bit
Shabbathehutt Don't buy the Bmw air intake it's not worth it!! Buy the afe stage2 air intake with the carbon fiber on it, you will have the same look as the Bmw one but for half the price....
