Hey man! Sorry for the late reply - if you are focusing on Afro/Deep/Organic I would first learn about the musical scales just to have a basic understanding of them, as these genres are very focused on the chords and melodies. If you’ve got ableton 11 there’s already the scale feature, but learning the theory behind it will help you even more. There’s a lot of videos where they explain this, for example Andrew Huang has a very good one. Once you understand scales and manage to create your own (always focusing on the emotions they create) I would suggest putting some basic organic/afro drums, which can be achieved by a deep and round four on the floor kick (that’s a kick every beat) and some shaker loop on top, there’s a lot of good sounding drums in Splice, but if you don’t have that service already hit me up on instagram and I’ll be happy to share some samples and ableton presets with you! Once you have those chords and a basic + shakers you can already tell if the song idea would work or not, and then decide wether you want to expand on it. @@SaboLimit Thanks for your answer! I'll take a look for videos that teach music theory, as it's important and a fundamental requirement to produce a good track! I confess that I've already watched some tutorial videos in Brazilian Portuguese (I'm a Brazilian DJ and producer lol) about music theory, but I thought it was a bit confusing hahaha. I have some Afro House sample packs on my laptop, and I've played around with them but I haven't produced anything big yet!

I did use some Sidechain! On the Drum group I used the default kickstart preset with 35% mix, and then for certain percussions and drums I added their individual sidechain depending on the sound I wanted to get. Hope that helps! :)

I mentioned in the video this was inspired by the more "pop afro house" sound that has been growing recently! Not the classic Afro House
