Those smaller capacitors will not filter ripple near as well as the larger ones with roughly 6 times the value.

agree 2200mF to 330 is not enough even if by using higher voltage you do not need so much capacitance specially because you have some room now it depend of the load

And how about the current ??!. You should explain that if you can get more output voltage from this power supply you have less current because the power is unchanged. Example: The SMPS is rated at 12V/10A which is 120W. After modification for example 24V at the output the current is 120W/24V= 5A.

It will not work properly due to PWM section limitations and Pulse Trasformer limitations. You should have explained all the things in the video.

Yes nothing is free but for not big loads it works, however it won't transform 24v 10A into 50v 10A, in theory it will but with big load you will get AC like noise lol

Thats not problem.Both are filtering the output voltage but capacitor voltage is important

if you need a schematic for something this simple you shouldn't be playing with electricity, you should be playing with legos. Not the regular legos, you might choke on those when you put them in your mouth. The big giant block legos for 3 and under.

Hello Sir. Nice video. I did the same as you showed : incresed the pot from 1k to 10k and the fixed resistor from 1.5k to 500 ohm but i only reach 21v. Any idea why ? Thanks.

His idea is nonsense. If you want to increase/decrease the output voltage you need to change the winding of the transformer. Changing the voltage rating of the capacitor makes no sense.

Putting 50V onto filtering capacitors rated for 36V will kill them. But i would drive 2 PSU in Series after you open DC ground to earth contact.

Not with a view to increasing the output voltage, but the electrolytic capacitors which are placed as smooth capacitors on the output must be increased in line with the increased output voltage value. It is correct that increased capacitor values in the maximum voltage value make no sense for increased voltage output. Also, it is pointless that he puts in 330uF against the original ones which are 3300uF. This ringing in microwaves will lead to more noise or ripple in the output voltages, which is not a desired side effect.

You need to get from 12 to 50 for it to be of any use as a variable bench power supply, otherwise yeah I did this already long time ago.
