I have low porosity hair as well. My last wash, I did a yearly detox, used a moisturizing shampoo and did a hot oil treatment. The moisturizing shampoo and hot oil treatment was a game changer. My roots and locs finally felt soft after 2 years lol.
I figured out I was low porosity during my loose natural journey. So I figured out how to moisturize since then and the way I moisturize now hasn't really changed except that I don't use deep conditioner or creams anymore. I make sure to do a hot oil treatment after every wash and I wear a shower cap during my hot oil treatment to keep the heat in i use a mixture of rose water and aloe vera juice to moisturize and loc (pun intended) it in with an oil mixture. My hair stays pretty moisturized for a few days and then I'll just remoisturize. I never thought about using my q-redow but ill try it next time I moisturize.
@@spirituallylovingme-11 it's changed alot over the 3 months.... I use ginger, rosemary, loose camomile, aloe vera - boil these in rose water ... Strain the mixture and combine with rice water
Just subscribed! You are beautiful and so are your locs! I have high porosity hair, so im a little unsure of how to get that moisture in. My scalp produces too much oil, and my starter locs are pretty dry. I may try a hot oil treatment. Just not sure what oil to use. Lol
So do you rinse with cold water to close your cuticles? I was always told to rinse with cold water when washing your hair. Seems we wouldn’t want to close it until we apply a sealant... just asking for advice!
It could mean you're protein sensitive too. I found out I was low porosity and protein sensitive when I was a loose natural and anything with a lot of protein made my hair dry and brittle, especially coconut oil. And yeah my hair hates Cantu.
@@brownsugalocs I think so. They say if you have too much moisture your hair will feel slimy but I have never had too much moisture in my hair. I've always had issues with hardness until I found a color conditioner from amazon. I washed my locks with diluted Dawn soap to get all the old products out of it and then I deep conditioned with argan oil and conditioner period my hair is finally soft!
I have low porosity hair and have been using coconut oil for years but with hot oil treatments only. That’s the only way it works for me and I’m good for about 5 days before I need to refresh. But my cousin is also low porosity and her hair hates it and Cantu like yours lol. Hair can be so complex sometimes.
Hello great video! Thank you! I have low porosity hair as well! I wanted to ask you, Would you steam in between washes in order to further moistures when needed?, and how do you close your cuticles after moisturising and sealant or does the sealant close the cuticle? Thank you!
What type of (moisturizing?) shampoo would you recommend? I’ve been using a diluted dr. Bronner’s & water mixture since I started my locs in August. I just found out about using moisturizing shampoo. I tried it for the first time yesterday and oh my goodness! It’s such a difference. I diluted Cantu sulfate free moisturizing shampoo with water. I’m a little paranoid that my locs will start unraveling by using a moisturizing shampoo though. I know a lot of people use the Shea moisture black Jamaican castor oil shampoo but that never agreed with my scalp as a loose natural. Just wondering if there are more options for people with locs.
i used an aloe vera moisturizing shampoo but i think the brand i used is discontinued. i just picked up a new brand so ill be trying that out and letting yall know about it.
How often do you moisturize your hair after you retwist and beyond? I tend to moisturize my hair a few weeks after I get a retwist to make it last because when water touches it or it’s manipulated from rubbing oils in it, it’s over. My hair is super dry too (low porosity I guess) so I need to moisturize is more.
After re-twist I spray my hair with rosewater like by the3rd or 4th day then rub oil down the locs. I choose rosewater after a fresh retwist because it absorbs into the hair without leaving it to become really wet and undo the work I put in.
Jesus peace be upon him is a prophet not God. And yes you’re right he’ll return but only when it’s time for him to defeat the Dajaal but when he returns he’ll tell you to worship the one true god. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. Jesus peace be upon him is not god.
You’re bun in the beginning of the vid is so pretty. Tfs. I just posted my first vid. I’m about 3 months into my loc journey & it mean a lot to me if you’d check it out.
