What about a surface-mount installation onto a solid concrete ceiling? Is that even possible?

Literally never goes that easy, especially when you are higher up on a ladder and barely reach the mount/AP. Always works when you try it before it's mounted, once it's time to mount one or more of the holes are misaligned by a few millimeters and the device can't be slid in. These days I mount the AP in the bracket around 50 times to wear it out a bit, then install it in the ceiling.
