Thanks for posting this. Wouldn't have been able to figure all of this out on my own. Ready for TrainerRoads with friends this week. Yay!

one little tip is to bin the pedal magnet ( because it falls of very easily ) and get a rare earth magnet off amazon and stick it on the end of your pedal shaft that comes through the crank arm, its about 9 quid for 10 , no glue or zip ties required :)

Did you have to turn off GPS in order for the Garmin to use the speed sensor speed reading? I cant seem to get a speed reading when I'm spinning the wheels which the bike is in doors.

+Garry Tran No I don't think so. Did you try to turn off the GPS? Make sure the sensor and magnet are close and that the batteries are fresh. I have bought new batteries from the store that were duds. :( Hope you get it to work!

There are some bikes that just do not allow a good fit with this sensor. The cadence magnet positioning is critical. I had to make up a little pad which would bring the cadence magnet closer to the sensor. If I mounted the magnet right on the back of the crank arm, the magnet would not trigger the cadence sensor. I am experimenting with more powerful magnets.
