Go deeper with the hammer drill. If it feels too loose you can always use epoxy or stuff wood chip in the hole.

This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble ru-vid.comUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

For those concrete screws, I have found it best to stop at about half-inch shy of the required depth. I then finish out the hole with a more narrow masonry bit.

Thanks for this video! Currently installing my Ikea island and instructions aren’t clear, and even wrong with the 2 screws for the timber piece. The height is just too low if you have both screws in, might as well just put one in only at the start.

I usually plan on 2-3 holes per concrete bit, and if you can use the water trick to get a little more you are great, but concrete eats through bits quickly.

Hi, nice video. Your screw head broke because you didnt clear all the dust out of the hole after drilling. Adds too much resistance to the screw going into hole.

You probably don't have to have them all screwed into concrete, since the cabinet are all screwed together anyway

That is the wrong tapcon to use for a metal bracket. The counter sunk tapered head is use for wood into concrete. For a metal bracket you should use a flat head tapcon.

I know it's been a whole year or so since you dropped this video but the only thing i do differently is anytime I'm drilling concrete, metal or tile I always have a bit of water running or sitting on the surface just to help cool down the bit. But amazing job and thanks for the tutorial.

Are you drilling the screw straight into the concrete? You'll need to do one of two things: 1) drill a hole for a plastic plug, hammer in the plug, then drill the screw into the plastic plug in the ground. Or 2) you can drill into the concrete, then install a dynabolt into the hole, when you mount the bracket on the bolt, as you tighten the nut, the dynabolt expands in the hole, creating a firm hold.
@edwintervt
@edwintervt 5 месяцев назад
These are Tapcon concrete screws. Drill and fill - but they kind of suck and snap if you don't go slow, or drill deep enough, or look at it too long. Alternatives include anchor bolts (dynabolt), concrete drive pins, and power actuated nail guns.

you're supposed to share the legs between the units...you didn't do that part properly. Unless you aren't supposed to do that for the island. But I doubt that's the case.
@ShannonElizabethDIY
@ShannonElizabethDIY 7 месяцев назад
You can do that, but it doesn’t make that much of a difference and in my experience, it just makes it harder and not more support. Plus the wood holds more weight and is between the cabinets holing them level. Wood is a lot stronger than plastic.
@lgmnowkondo938
@lgmnowkondo938 7 месяцев назад
@@ShannonElizabethDIY it makes it much easier to level the cabinets...and putting the leg right under the edge of both cabinets is ideal for holding the load.
@ShannonElizabethDIY
@ShannonElizabethDIY 7 месяцев назад
@@lgmnowkondo938 I get you
@lgmnowkondo938
@lgmnowkondo938 7 месяцев назад
@@ShannonElizabethDIY each leg is rated for 250 lbs...so leg strength is not an issue. If you share the legs, it's a lot easier to level the cabinets.
