How to move to Norway - First steps Part 1:
Welcome to my Channel Arctic North Adventures.
I received a lot of questions in my movie "Why I moved to Norway" and I like to fill in with this short movie and recommendations with some advices.

Hello Alex! Your channel is very inspiring for me. I am from beautiful Serbia. Even tho I love this country and it's people I still plan to move out one day. So I am learning the Norwegian language right now and hopefully one day I'll be in Norway. Fingers crossed. I the meantime I'll be enjoying your channel. Keep up the good work! Hi, thank you so much for the video. Im 18, im moving from america, to norway alone, to attend a folkschool. While i was born in america, the rest of my family lives is from noway (other than my direct family), so i do have that, but none of them live in the area im moving too. Ive been super nervous about it all.

Be mindful of the difference in Norwegian law as to what nationality you are. It might be harder for people outside of the EU to get a residence permit. Americans must document that they can support themselves economically have they not landed a job in advance. I think a 3 months tourist visa is the longest you can stay in Norway while searching for a job.

In ukrainian, I lived 7 years in Ukraine and 10 years in Italy, I'm tired of big populous areas, I love mountains and generally Scandinavia as culturally and historically, so I want to ask how much money do you advise to have when you first move there and what is the best way to learn Norwegian? Thank you for the video

Thanks for taking your time to watch my videos, I actually need to think a bit, I did not came here with too much money I guess I had around 2000 euros, well It depends on how fast u are able to get an income, job. What your expanses will be duo to flat etc.. My best Advice to learn Norwegian is to cut out English and only speak Norwegian even if u are just at the beginner state, but before that u should do some Norwegian course I did 150 hours totally.

I want out of the US but I’m not rich! I’ve had a disability. I’m a former school librarian with a graduates degree but I can’t imagine that they’d let me in 😢

Thank you, Alex, for sharing your experience🙏. It was really motivational, as I am in the process of preparing to move to Norway. I have started Norwegian lessons, although I am still a beginner! I've worked as a UX Designer in the IT industry for 4 years and have over 10 years of experience in UI and Graphic design. I'd love to find a job in northern Norway due to my love for the northern lights and preference for cooler summers. I'm curious if my age, in my mid-forties, would be a barrier to finding a job there, given that in my country, it's challenging for someone my age to secure employment as younger people are preferred for cost reasons. I'd love to know if you have any suggestions on which cities in the north I should be considering for job opportunities in the IT industry. Thank you in advance for your time and help!

So nice to hear from you, it's a good start specially with learning the language that will give you a very good starting point. It seems to be with your experience it should not be a problem to get a job. Cities ? Mh. maybe Tromsø, Alta, Kirkenes, Andøya or Bø there are maybe some it companies. Not quite sure it's not my profession. Best luck

It is not necessary but out of integration reasons and respect I would highly recommend to learn it if you plan to stay here for more than 12 months. All communes offering for a low price Norwegian lessons for people who come here work here and live here at least for 6 months and more.
