Valuable thought... I would recommend using this mindset when designing your videos as well.

Nice one David - snackable 5 min refresher. Love your core point about making sure the opening is engaging. Now, if only everybody will arrive on time for a crisp start, lol.

I tried the retrospective where you ask team members to write down a character form the movies that represents how they feel right now. Only I added a twist to this, how do you feel right now about this sprint. After 5 minutes or so, I collected all of the sticky notes in a container and pulled each sticky note from the container, one- by- one and read the movie character to the team. I then asked the rest of the team to guess which team member wrote this sticky note. Once the team member who wrote the note was identified, I asked that team member to explain why they felt that way about the sprint that just completed. I soon had a collection of comments about the sprint from which I summarized all of the movie characters, team members and comments into a sprint review document. Thanks for you help

Its a good point that people get bored easily with the repetition including the moderator. Make it fun at the start and people will get engaged.

Hi David, seems like easy to apply tips. Just a couple of questions, would you ask each person to describe for a minute why they chose that character? After these few first minutes you would dive right into the retrospective?

Easy in case of colocation, how would you do it in case the scrum team is spread in different countries?

Hi Freddie! A few things. First of all, use video if at all possible (Zoom, Google Hangouts, Webex, doesn't matter). That way you can see the engagement level of everyone in the retro. Second, try out retrospective tools (like Retrium, or something more generic like Google Docs). Hope that helps!

I wanted the first 30 seconds to tell me what to do in the first 30 seconds. At 2 minutes and ready to bolt, but sticking with it because I want to know the info.At 4 minutes I'm out.

the title of this video is what made me want to watch it, but honestly, you lost me when we’re at least a minute in and still have said nothing so I moved on to another video. I came back later to finish watching your video and it’s helpful but you take almost 2 minutes to get to the point.

Thanks for the feedback! Always trying to make this channel as great as we can. You might enjoy some of the newer videos, like ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M3XTpnM3Zds.html, they are a bit faster and cover a variety of great info.

Halfway through this video and he still hasn't said anything other than what a retrospective is and how important the first 30 seconds is. I had to turn it off.
