Spirulina powder dissolved in water creates a wonderful light blue/turquoise colour. I discovered that while using it to create anthotype photos. Best wishes from Vermont! ❄️💙❄️
I really like the effects of the black beans. I have dyed with avocado pits and skins but was disappointed with the outcome. I found it to be very pale peachy pink and jut not very interesting.
Natural dyeing is pretty subtle in my experience. It is not as bright as other types of dyes. The black bean dye seems to be holding up pretty well, but it's not as color fast as non natural dyes. Do you like procion dyes better or indigo?
I like Procyon dyes as they are vibrant and long lasting. I have some cochineal that I bought some time ago as well as alum but have not used yet. I am attracted to natural dyes and using plants from the garden but the process is different and and more subtle. And then keeping up with using the fabric can be a challenge! @@OnyxArtStudios
