YES! I love how he focuses on technique and using what you already have instead of trying to create something that you don't. No RU-vidr has taught me more!
This is exactly what I love about Wayne's channel. He picks quality over quantity and he has fabulous make-up lessons to share for both amateurs and professionals. It gets boring and redundant seeing those same pathetic PR hauls and so called make-up tutorials. Wayne on the other hand is a breath of fresh air with every video that he uploads.
Damn no body is forcing you to watch pr hauls and stuff. Don't like it then don't watch it. People aren't creating content for you as an individual. Stop bringing others down to show your appreciation for him. That's now how compliments work
I have hyperpigmentation left over from acne! I am healing it with a Vitamin C serum (Ascorbyl Glucoside 12% from The Ordinary) and protecting the skin and preventing further damage with a well-formulated sunscreen from Paula's Choice. Wayne has done several videos on his acne journey in the past -- just go to his channel page and search "acne" in the channel search bar! Hope this helps. :D
Naomi PR Can you tell me how it's working for you the vitamin C from The Ordinary during the time you've been using it, please? I've recently bought Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin to fight PIH/PIE and I'm interested in other products that can be effective too, such as AHA acids and vitamin C, for example. I would me really grateful for that. 🙇
Estíbaliz, the Ascorbyl Glucoside is working great for me -- no side effects! For reference, I have oily/combo, acne-prone, sensitive skin. I haven't tried the Alpha Arbutun yet. Good luck on your skincare journey!
Estíbaliz Martín My current nighttime routine is Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution (I use this every other night, I switch between this and witch hazel), Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion and Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%. This entire routine has been improving my skin immensely. I've been using the Retinoid for almost 2 years and its extremely hydrating and helps with texture and wrinkle reduction. I have only been using the Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C for about two weeks and have noticed a huge reduction in the scarring and an overall brighter tone. Highly recommend this routine! And yes, sunscreen is super important as well to ensure your scars do not get darker. I tried the Niacinamide and the Alpha Arbutin but found them slightly drying.
Some people like it natural and some people like a full face. There's no such thing as "that's how makeup should be". If it makes you happy then go for it
there is no "how makeup should be". its makeup. its art. wear a lot or wear a little. go crazy or go natural. do whatever the fuck you want. there is no rule or rhyme.
Full coverage looks so nasty in person 😳 And yeah if you like it, obviously you can do your makeup that way. And we can still have the opinion that it looks bad.
This technique of stippling in foundation after the concealer (light) and contour (dark) is what I do every day now because of Wayne and it really works for me.
what an absolutely beautiful look, practically dewy! Always enjoy the really natural look make-up which is meant to enhance the natural beauty rather than create a whole new face.
Wayne, you are a treasure. I just tried this and got the best foundation result ever. I rarely wear foundation because I find it always ends up cakey. Using the facial oil is an amazing trick!
I really enjoy how his content is very straight to the point and the intros aren’t 3 minutes of him telling us to subscribe and promoting merch. These are truly tutorials!
How i get luminous af skin without highlighters: I slather unpasturized honey all over my face as a mask every morning for 10 mins. Rinse, put moisturizer mixed with vitamin e oil on my face, let it sink in for 10 mins, put sunscreen, wait another 10 mins before applying a pea sized amount of foundation all over the face. Voila lol doing the honey thing and using suncreen everyday inproved my skin over time so i dont need a lot of coverage. For 'highlighter' i use rosebud salve.
other girls are extra when it comes to their makeup for the morning, but for me im extra on skincare stuff lmaooo i just wanna be as smooth as an eggshell
I love that you always go for more natural makeup looks. The specificity you use in your instruction is super appreciated! I love that your focus still strives for looks that are really pretty without having to spackle on a ton of make up. Thank you for these tutorials. Following them always makes me feel like I am accentuating my beauty rather than putting on a mask.
Thank you so much!! It's so helpful, I never thought of using a tissue, to absorbe the oils before applying powder, I'm gonna try this the next time I do a natural makeup!!
Me too, love the idea! Every time I want to wear a really light coverage base I still need a powder because I’m oily, but then it ends up looking more full coverage than I wanted 😣
It makes a huge difference. I always add a drop of oil to any tinted moisturizer or foundation, mix it in my hand then apply it an sometimes it makes my face oily after a few hours. I watched one of Wayne's videos where he mentioned the blotting leaves pigments but removes excess oils after applying your makeup. It does make a huge difference. It kind of pushes the foundation pigment into your skin too and it makes my pores disappear.
I know this was stated before in another video but it bears repeating...you look even more handsome when wearing blue! Also, thanks for all of the work you do to help educate us & sometimes even make us giggle! 🤭 Take care of yourself always.
I just wanted to take this moment to thank Wayne for being on RU-vid and sharing your own opinions and giving us real advise. One video from years ago where you talked about having dry skin. I used to struggle with dry skin and teenage spots when I was in secondary school. I was 16 when i first watched your videos. (I'm 22 now) I searched up how I can help my dry skin and Wayne your video came up. The advise you gave literally changed my skin. That was like the beginning of my journey of skin care. I just wanted to thank you Wayne so much ❤❤😊 you helped me with something I struggled with and helped me start my journey to self confidence. ❤❤ love you ❤❤❤
Between this video and the 80/20 one, I feel like you have completely changed the way I do my foundation within a week. My makeup has never looked better, and I am so, so appreciative. Thank you so much for the format change to focus on makeup application again. Your videos are the best on RU-vid right now, and such a refreshing change from all the drama.
Hi Wayne, I recently found your channel and I just want to say "Thank You!" I will be turning 50 in the next couple of months and realized that I need to really up my game with skin care and makeup techniques. I came across your channel and I was up most of the night viewing your videos-- I have to say, it has made a huge difference to me. I have so much FUN now trying new make up techniques.. but more importantly, I have fallen in love with all my imperfections. Your experience and back story of why & how you became who you are.. following your passion, is inspirational. I have never wrote a comment before(on anything) but wanted to share with you the impact you have had on my daily skin care, make up and outlook on life. I tried the lipstick as a blusher this morning and it just made me giggle. I looked good and felt great leaving my house! Thank you for adding a brightness to my day :) * just bought the Dior Spray Flash foundation, tried it and sprayed my hair LOL! Would you consider doing a tutorial on this product? *
Goodness me.. the time has come ladies and people.... he is demonstrating it for us! At last. YES, that touch of 'blush' - above the eyebrows - makes the whole entire face lift up. I'm doing it every day. It is a fantastic trick!!!!!
Wow I've watched your videos maybe like 10 years ago and now I understand how much I enjoy your presentations! So straight forward, no need for fancy shmancy talking, recommendations, flirting faces and makeup product praising. So clean. Thanks!
For the last couple of years I have drawn my contouring, concealing and blushing as one layer and then blending everything when I sponge on my foundation. I find it easy to get the highlights and shadows on a more natural way and it cuts my mirror time in half. Wayne taught me this trick years ago and I swear by it. My makeup never looks caked or overdone. A great technique for us older gals!
I’m dying of excitement right right now, Ive do this technique on many clients, and I love how subtle the highlight and contour looks. Looks like I was doing something right!
I love this!! plz zoom in next time just a suggestion so we can really see the skin. I'm new to foundation and am determined to learn how to do a natural base
I have absolutely loved you since I was 13 years old!! One of my goals in life is to become very wealthy fly to where you are and meet you. you seem so knowledgeable and nice! You’re also to the point and one of the few makeup RU-vidrs that has kept their videos about learning about makeup not with the latest trends. You deserve so much more! ❤️❤️
I had always been a huge fan of Kevyn Aucoin, and when he passed I never thought I’d like another makeup artist. You sir, have proven me wrong! You are amazing 💖😘
Im someone who has been looking for years to find the perfect finish in make up and have failed. Have spent lots and lots of money on brushes and products looking at random influencers. But THIS video is a life changer. No rubbish and random excessive products, no long list of brushes- Just pure art of make up. Thank you Wayna. You have no idea how you have transformed my life
You're such an incredibly talented mua. I love the look of natural skin, I'm not an 'instagrammar' I'll be practicing this for sure. Thank you as always for the best techniques ; ) much love x
40+ now and only in the last 6mths doing research on how to apply make up to knackered skin lol! Wayne....you are my saviour 😘 I'm not quite there yet, budget doesn't permit frequent purchasing, but I absolutely LOVE the video about applying foundation and powder with a beauty blender. It's looking so more natural, far less cakey (a common problem with mature skin), and I feel 'covered' all day for work. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Think my base is finally there now but, like u say, a face needs dimension. I don't contour or highlight, I don't have the right products yet....but when I do I will absolutely follow this guide that I am sure will have as positive results as the base one. Keep posting....I get really excited when one of yr vids pops up lol! Have a great weekend! xxx
I’ve been a subscriber for years! I don’t watch a lot of makeup tutorials but when I do it’s Wayne Goss. Thank you for sharing this beautiful technique that I feel completely comfortable and confident in and that I can wear every day!
I have finally applied a lot of stuff that you’ve talked about in your videos, especially moisturising heavily and a little bit of facial oil and blending for 10 minutes and finally I looked out together and was really chuffed!!! I also put on my makeup with natural lighting (if I’m doing a daytime look). Thanks a million!!!
i really really love all your techniques but this is one of my favorites! especially the tip of using the tissue to absorb the excess oil. you are really the best wayne!
I just tried these techniques my skin looks the best it has looked in a long time! Love the simplicity. No fancy products, just wonderful. Try this everyone, so pretty🌼🌸🌼 Thank you Wayne!
Stunning as always, you never dissapoint, I could watch all makeup videos in youtube but I'll always come back to Wayne's channel he's just the best, simple, direct and to the point. Thank you for sharing all your amazing experience as a MUA with us all over the years! 💖
I think for most makeup wearers its gonna be noticable that u ARE wearing something. I even had a friend who could clock a foundation wearer from miles away😁 but to the people that dont use makeup you definitely gonna look bare.or maybe in some photos. If you wanna look "natural" in photos... I mean we can see it because his sitting under bright lights right in front of us,i think
Anni Psy - Oh for sure, you are so right. And I didn’t mean anything bad by it, just pointing out he added that too even though he didn’t show it on camera. 😊 I like it and that’s typical men’s makeup. I know so crazy right. I’m the same way and when people bash men for wearing makeup, I’m like ummmm pretty much every male celebrity you know is wearing makeup for film work and they have no idea. But even in person they don’t notice. 😂
@@annipsy2185 Anni Psy I don't think so. I depends on your technique. I wear a full face everyday and neither my mom nor my entire family clan notices even when their up close ( theyre very Conservative regarding makeup even if I am 22). Ive taught my sister and now even if we contour, nobody notices.
Great video as usual. I love how well you understand beauty and know it is not about masking the skin with unnecessary amounts of product. Cheers from California.
This is so helpful. Thank you! Do you have any pointers for doing "no makeup" makeup on people with many freckles that evens out the complexion, but doesn't cover the pigment of freckles?
Have watched ur many videos. But this video made me appreciate ur talent even more. Best foundation technique. Especially that contouring and highlighting beneath foundation... Just amazing
Beautiful as usual Wayne!! Could you please do a video on best ways/products to reduce acne scarring?? Or anyone out there in the comments know of any tips? Right now I use Retinol, AHA'S, BHA'S, Vitamin C, Latic Acid (probably some other stuff too that I can't think of but those are the ones I use daily) and I just can't get rid of this scarring on my chin :(
devsox1 the ingredients which you are using are great to fade discolouration and even out the skin tone. It won’t do much for skin texture, texture is quite difficult are requires a more intense approach, for example derma roller treatment or fraxel laser.
Thanks for the recommendations guys! And don't worry, I don't use all this stuff at the same time, I use some in the morning & some at night, and alternate different products on different days!
if you dont mind may i suggest you something? try finding gram flour, soyabean powder, sesame seed powder (or just find these three and grind them coarsely into powder) mix them together into a thick paste with some raw milk and wash your face rubbing this paste. it's natural and it will erase acne scarring on the face. i just dont catch scars, pigmentation or blemishes. hope it will help you too. Ayurveda trick rom India.
I tried this technique this morning and OMG my skin never looked and felled so good with make up on 😍It took me less than 10 minutes to look natural but flawless 👏👏
Fabiane Perdonati, your question reminds me of one of his videos where he says to put a small amount of "any foundation we happen to have" onto the back of our hand. Then pour a small amount, or a few drops of a facial oil onto it, such as jojoba. Finally, use our stipple brush to blend it in on our hand, then apply to face. So, maybe we could just try to use any drugstore makeup with that method. That would definitely be less expensive. Maybe, Wayne can give us a little clarification on it. :)
When I have applied my makeup in that manner, it has looked very dewy. Now, I need to try it with that type of contouring. I can't wait to try it out. :)
Fabiane Perdonati, please ignore my previous comments. Emilynoel83 says that a good dupe for EL Double Wear is Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation. That will give you a very similar look.
Wow! This actually assisted so much in my application technique. I hate cakey makeup and I've never really known how to get rid of the natural oil in makeup. Dabbing before powder is so logical! I can't believe I didn't think of it before.
Some days ago i had a bad breakout and discovered, By experimentation that using concealer under foundation looks way more natural and conceal acne better and then this is recommended to me. Will definitely try again using your method, thank you so much!
Hi Wayne! I simply love what you do! I am a makeup artist as well since 13 years and know for the fact that the more knowledge you have you use less makeup and looking for a natural look. Skin is something we should be able to show in a beautiful way and not cover it up with tones of products ♡♡♡♡ love it!
Wow- I just tried this and I can finally use all the colors in my cream contour palette. In a roundabout way you just saved me money! For this technique I used the middle contour shade and really layered it on (something I would NEVER normally do) and it looks even more blended, seamless, and natural than using the lightest contour shade on top of my CC cream (with the world’s lightest hand). I think the next time I do this, I’ll use the middle dark shade for my forehead and jawline (with a lighter touch), but the darkest contour shade for my cheek bones (applying the same amount as I did this time). When I go out at night I think I’ll stick to putting the lightest contour shade on top of my cc cream (since it looks a lot more dramatic), but this technique works SO much better (and faster!) for daytime makeup! I also now have a use for a very expensive, waterproof concealer I bought that’s WAY too light to be used on top of my makeup. Now I can use it to highlight under my cc cream! Thanks, Wayne, for making my morning makeup routine 1,000 times quicker and a lot more fool-proof! No more spending 20 minutes blending and buffing and worrying that the lightest contour shade applied as lightly as possible might still be too dramatic for work!
Oh, and BONUS- since I have dry skin I avoid powder products like the plague (besides a light dusting of setting powder under the eyes). I have a beautiful cream blush palette that I’ve never been brave enough to use because no matter what I do it applies too heavy on top of my cc cream and I look like a 5 year old putting her own blush on for a cheer competition lol. With this technique I can now put on a good amount of it UNDER my cc cream and it peeks through juuuuust enough to give me some color back without making me look splotchy and red. No more weirdly washed out cheeks, and no more huge gap between my highlight and contour- now I have something I can use to gently bring it all together.
I don’t comment much but you gotta know! My company’s annual ball is tonight and this video couldn’t have been better timed. My makeup game is seriously stepped up just from this tutorial. I try to follow your techniques for the most part, as good as my skills allow, but this one is everything I’ve been missing. THANK YOU!!!
my fairy queen for me, I'm usually very oily in my t-zone but lately I've been applying moisturizer and oil before my makeup and it looks amazing. Hopefully it works for you too!
Skyebright1 they're definitely not made for oily skin but they still don't make my face oily. Especially the castor oil I use, even my sister who has acne prone, very oily skin has been using it and it hasn't been making her any oilier
I’ve always been a fan of your seemless contour and highlight. I’ve missed these videos! I used to watch them all the time. Still do! Thanks for this video! ❤️
This technique has changed my makeup look! The oil helps blend the product in beautifully and I would have never thought to dab with a tissue to pull up the excess.
