If you have a digital watch, you can draw a properly aligned clock in the dirt (a circle divided into 12 with the first line drawn along a stick shadow), then use the watch method as normal.

Orion est à l'équateur. Quand on est dans l'hémisphère Nord il apparait à l'endroit et indique le Sud a son zénith. Quand on est dans l'hémisphère Sud il apparait à l'envers et il indique le Nord son zénith. Donc le contraire que tu dit. Bonne continuité.

The horizontal azimuth establishes the level horizontal nature of Earth. Not a space-planet. :)

For the sun method is it possible to use the same method at night with the moon, or does it not work with the moon ?

Nice video, just i think that in orion i think downward should be south instead of north

the image shows the watch vertical as if yuor were rising yuor wrist to tell time , but you said horizontal which would mean as one would stretch out their arms towards the horizon.. if thats the case how can the hour hand point to the sun if the sun is upward but the numbers o the watch is all on the horizon?

@3:34, are you sure you got it right? the sun rises in the EAST and sets in the West, but yet you said the shadow of the stick would move from "West to the East"? shouldn't it be East to West as it follows the movement of the sun?
