I have been using the trailer mounted straps for years. They make a huge difference and help keep the boat in one place.

I have been using the stainless steel ones from Starbrite for over 25 years and they work great.

Installation looks easy - if you already have perfectly-positioned holes on your trailer! *looks around for perfectly-positioned holes on his trailer... I don't happen to have those. Mmm. Oh! Watching further it seems brackets are available. No, I REALLY don't recommend drilling a hole in your trailer; it will go rusty within a week.
