I came across your video thank you for your information. According to Washington DC embassy requirement a bank statement is required. A invitation is not needed , if the applicant purchase a flight ticket and booked a hotel. I talked to someone at the Washington DC embassy and the person also informed me the applicant can walk in, they don’t necessarily need to schedule an appointment Thanks again Thanks again
Yeah you really need to get the yellow fever shot before anything. Because the local health department was closed for travel vaccines. Some places were out of stock. The shot would be $71 normally i paid 298.00 The invitation letter is critical and their passport has to be current, am worried about my interview date hopefully it is in good timing. I leave sept 5th. Also don't forget to do your health declaration form. You can't get your permit to board without it. And if your flight has multiple layovers in other countries you need a transit visa as well. My layover is only in u.s then straight to Lagos Nigeria! 11hrs across the ocean! Am i really having to fly to Houston office to do a in person interview for my tourist visa? I see places online that say they help with obtaining a tourist Visa but not sure if it's applicable to me.

Thank you for the helpful information. I was also wondering if you had to have a letter of invitation, and I know you mentioned the shots, did they mention anything about taking malaria medicine or anything or did they say you had to have a certain Covid shot?
you don't need a letter invitation anymore , depending on who you go with to get your shots they should talk to you about all your options but malaria will be one of the top shots/med they will recommend. Yes they also recommend getting a covid shot as well I went to passport health they were great , I hope this helps
Thank you so much for the video. I literally just started looking into this a couple of days ago and you confirmed everything I have read. I did not know about the buying the plane ticket though and showing proof so that was helpful. Unfortunately there are no appointments available prior to when I wanted to travel. I didn't realize an appointment would be needed so I will have change everything. I did notice in the comments though that you said a letter of invitation is not needed any longer, however it is still listed on the website. Should I get one just to be on the safe side?
Yess if it’s still listed on the website, I had people telling me in the comments that’s it’s no longer needed since my appointment but when I went I presented one . So I would take one with you just in case it want hurt

Hi Gabby! thank you so much for this informative video. I plan to travel to Nigeria in December 2023 with my friend (she's Nigerian and holds a Nigerian passport). She suggest that we get started on the process soon. My question is, can I start applying now and book an interview with the OIS location early even tho I want to go in December? For example, start filling out application now (January) , then book an appt in a few months (for example March)? does the appt have to be closer to when I want to go or can it be early? I would like a 2 year visa.

But my appointment for my travel vaccines are in 2 weeks.... But I have all my other vaccines.. I work in the medical field... This is such a long process... Do we have to go through this every time we go???
Im in DC I was told to go to OIS ROCKVILLE MD and I also could apply to OIS Rockville online I am told cost is 160.00 plus additinal 50.00 it seems the full total is 220.00 also I was told the Hotel where your staying can do the letter of invitation ,

I thought I was with you the application and info goes to who, because I saw you with a folder 📂 of documents. Then the appointment is this the biometric appt where we would actually hand these documents over. Then what is a safe amount on statement
when you go to your biometric appt that's who your giving the application info too . my experience I only had about 2k on my bank statements and I was fine I hope this helps and Good luck with everything :)

I had to call my bank like 4 times and ask them to suppress all the holds on credit card... They are stopping the payments from going through due to fraud alerts

@@gabbyvilla I went for my Biometrics on Tuesday the 26th and just got my visa in the mail today on the 30th only took 4 dsys..im glad the process is over 🙌
i went to my bank and asked them to print off my current bank statement , and I had at least 2k in my bank account at the time I Got it printed out , and I was fine , Hope this helps

They are requiring invitation letters for visitor visa applications. For tourist visa, they didn’t require to have a letter of invitation. I’d advise anyone that’s applying to get one anyways, just in case.

Yes you still have time , do it now though , I officially start my process in march , but I had book my appointment 9 months before though because they were completely booked . I did the application first , paid the $160 in then purchase my plane ticket . I hope this helps

they look at the proof that you booked your round trip flight if your not staying with friends or family that looked at my hotel reservations as well I'm not sure about booking one , in then canceling
