I just bought a 2019 Rav 4 at Carmax and when I went to fuel it up for the first time it wouldn't open! This video was a godsend. I did this (used a back scratcher even!) and opened it and sure enough, that part you lost is missing on mine. I need to get it serviced but in the meantime I can get fuel in my car. Thank you!

I was stuck at the gas station today, literally cried because I thought I was going to have to bend and damage the gas door. Thank goodness for your video! I had my 5 year old hold up the lever for me and I got to pop open the door!!! Thank you a million for your video! My exact piece broke off during the cold winter.

thank you Miss for sharing the tips! I got a brand new RAV4 2022 and going to fill the petrol when the full fuel tank is being up. It is a modern one and not with the button under our feet as the other lower Toyota Model. Now I got it. 🎉❤thank you so much again for sharing.

I had a problem today with my 2019 rav4. Went to Toyota service and they couldn't figure it out. You did! My gosh, thank you so much! Now I can put gas ❤
RAV4 2019 I just had the same situation, and when I closed fuel door, I realized that I couldn't open it again, went home upset and found your video. At least I was able to open it and tried put back this clip, but it came out usually when plastic is broken and it's not hanging there properly anymore. Now need to figure out how to glue this clip and make it holding there. Thank you one more time for helpful video.
Thank you so much for your video, I had the same issue on my 2020 Rav 4 , it fell out and I couldn’t figure out where belonged, two weeks trying to get gas and guess what it wouldn’t open, luckily I had a plastic fork to wedge in there to open it while I pulled the lever
Thank you so much for posting this! Had that clip pop out a few weeks ago, couldn't figure out where it went, and was facing this issue with only a quarter tank of gas left. Can't believe they attach such a crucial piece of the fuel door with such flimsy plastic!

Thank you so much first off. Had a terrible week and thought I had to spend a stupid amount of money at the dealership to fix the problem. Watched your vid and tied a couple of old mask from the lever to the steering wheel and got the door open. You are a godsend. Thank you!

You're awesome, just got a call from the wife she couldn't open the door. And now I remember we once had that clip pop off. So the last time she got gas we probably lost it again. But great tip on opening!
OMG THANK YOU! IM IN AZ ON A HOT SUMMER DAY AND THIS HAPPENED TO ME! i was lucky enough that my clip part so happened got caught onto my shirt and didnt think about but kept it in my car in case.

Thank you so much for this tip. However, I do not have a lever. I have a button and I cannot do this same trick. So I still require 2 people. And I have to wedge a lotion bottle into the gas tank to get it to open. But thank you so much for showing me the missing part.
Thank you so much for this. I was half a quarter to E and went to get gas when I realized I couldn’t open the fuel door. I went home and got the handle from my Swiffer duster and it worked perfectly… I ‘m keeping one in my car from now on, just in case lol
I just stopped for gas yesterday and the pin popped off. I still have it. Can it be reattached? Or do I have to go back to the dealer to have them replace it? This is a great fix but I really don't want to have to do this every time I need to fill up!!
I hope this works. The last time I got gas, that little metal piece fell off!!! So that must be it. UPDATE: My gas button doesn’t lift. You just push it in and, yes, I tried wedging a stick between the button and the drivers seat,😮 to hold it pressed in but it doesn’t work that way. But happy for the rest of you. Aargh!!
