2 shoe laces and a small loop on one of them when I was 12 and I got back from school, didn't have keys and my parents went out shopping (cellphones were a rare commodity back then) :D

It almost worked but half way through the string slipped off the handle so i ended up with the window being locked completely so please be careful (i used only string)

hey mate. thanks for the video. it helped me to open my house. I failed on the first window with a cloth and entirely closed the door, but on the second I used a pipe instead of a cloth which much easier fits on the handle, and did not even use the 3rd wire to close the door. the 2 wires on the top and the bottom of the pipe were enough. much appreciated! :) take care
Really helpful.. this hack is worked for me...Thank you very much for making this tutorial video.. It saved me... use the rubber band make a stopper at the edge if your hands go in and adjust the rope till the end to reduce the tension while you pull outwards..
Only try to understand the point. Small bag which must fit the handle. One rope keeping the bag in the right position. Second rope is at the top of the bag/handle and going around the window. Pulling the rope, and rotating the handle. Third rope is independent of the first two ropes. That third rope is connected with top part of the window. Pulling that third rope makes window at the closed possition. Only in that possition you can pulling the second and first rope and open the window.
Hey, thank you. Great idea, worked for me today to get into my flat. Good, that I had two windows open, because with one I managed to push the window handle only half way, and I blocked the chance to try again, because this way I kind of closed the window. Anyway, it worked with the second window. :)
Indeed, if you use screwdriver to lift up window a little bit and try to unlatch locking points or try to use screwdriver to move handle from outside. Both can be negated by window handle with lock or button (handle will be locked unless button is pressed) and better locking mechanism of whole window :)
