Thanks a lot. My trimmer stopped working suddenly. I followed your instructions and noted that the insulation of one of the connection cables was damaged and caused a short circuit with the body of the battery. Just fixed that and the trimmer is working now. Thanks again !

I want to ask one thing HOW THIS WORKS ON DIRECT FROM THE CHARGER AND ALSO FROM THE BATTERY? Beacause as we slide the button the positive of the battery sswitches from motor to supply but how come the motors works ? Then when direct from charge?
Hi sir. I have this kind of trimmer. I can use it, when it fully charged 100%. Let’s say I used it for 5mins and the battery still have 80% remaining at that moment. If I’m no longer use it, it will automatically drained to 0%. So everytime I want to use it, i have to charge all over again. What is the problem?
My philips hc5450 trimmer is charging but cannot start. I have checked the motor with an external battery and it's working. The inbuilt battery is also working, checked the buttons and it looks fine. I think the problem is with the board. Can we buy the circuit boards. Or can it be fixed otherwise ?

V nice video sir... I want to chance the circuit by removing the battery.. want to do it directly .. can i chance the wiring and give direct power to the motor.. The trimmer dies not work while charging
No it wont. AC to DC conversion is taking place at the plug and the device has no bypass charging. Instead cut a permanent hole at the back and make it battery-swappable. Philips uses very low quality rechargeable battery and you would be better off buying an eneloop or duracell high performance rechargeable AA battery. Another very DIY level option is to replace the power slot with USB-C by using a CCCV circuit. No more need to carry propriety pin AC adapters

My trimmer motor is rotating without the head, but when head is attached, motor is getting stuck and shorting the supply. Tried oiling the head but no use. Any suggestions?
Hi i'm from Argentina. I have the same Phillips Trimmer but i lost a part. The plate one you take in the minute 1:00 in the video with the gripper. And i don't know how to get it back. I'm looking for some manual disassembly, or someone who sells the trimmer in bad use. I just need that part, mine trimmer is almost new. If you have any idea, it works for me. Can you add same video for new model on battery replacement. In new model power cell are on pcb mounted and no video available for replacement of same.
Sir meri elekta ki trimmer Short ckt ho gayi h uski moter 2.1 volt ki h. Direct DC charger se chlane per load nahi leti h . uska koi upaay h kya .wo repair ho skti h kya.please reply me sir
I changed the battery and now the weight that moves the blade loses traction with the motor. Motor shaft is spinning inside the hole in the weight, and the weight doesnt move. What can be done about it? UPD its probably not the best idea, but i followed advice from the comments and superglued the rotor to the motor shaft. Works fine. Just be ready to turn off the trimmer if the blade is stopped by thick hair or something, otherwise the motor can be damaged.
