Good sh!+ and b carful with the parts that u need 2 b careful with. The way I edit my video was so that it isn’t boring and I don’t waste anyone’s time because I’ve wanted other vids and they b like 20-40 minutes and that frustrated me because they don’t edit a lot of the unnecessary video but I get it everyone has there own way of doing things but for me, imma do my best with what I have as I grow and put quality content. Like a mix of Str8 to the point, comedy, hood comedy, every other comedy, if u know what I mean😉. Keep it so entertaining that it makes u want to rewatch it again and again. Also to inform u guys about other things for the people that like the details in things kinda like how Chrisfix does it.
Thank you for this video, I've finally found a detailed, easy to understand video that actually uses the same ps4 as mine. I already have some high quality thermal paste coming in the post so I'll be following your tutorial when it gets delivered in a few days 😀 I've already taken it apart once to clean all the dust from the inside but that didn't do anything so hopefully the paste does.. I just wanna play warzone with my friends without waking up the entire household 🤣 love from the UK
I've just opened up my ps4 for the first time because the fan was so loud. I've given it a thorough clean and now jm gonna put some thermal paste on. I'm gonna watch your video again when I have to put it all back together again 😬🥶
@FOURsCRUZ One thing that's nerving me is the motherboard took some jostling to get out and I think it might be tricky getting it back in, also I'm going to be mindful of the cables when I'm reattaching them, but I'll persevere. I've just ordered some Thermal Paste which is coming Monday so I have until then to compose myself 🤣
Hey man, you might get even more views if you put the model number in your video description. Like is it 1215A or 1215B, etc. Awesome video with the perfect amount of humor to keep a somewhat stressful first time thing lighter.
@@FOURsCRUZ Ty for feed back. I was able to bring ps4 back to life after following your steps. Unfortunately, a week later it is back in vegetative state. When some lose some. Had a good 7 year run.
Aye! I mean I bet it was a good one week right🤷🏿♂️? Before u watched my video. How long did it take u to finally make the move of fixing your ps4? Like, a day, week(s), or a month? U don’t gotta answer but like….daymmmm 7 years. It reminds me of a car, like daym 😭 it’s been a good 40 years 🤣. Anyways so it officially doesn’t work no mo?
@@FOURsCRUZ I already had the paste in the mail, but your video was the same make and model and easy to follow. So I was watching your video at the same time, pausing at crucial points. So I guess 1hr before paste arrived from amazon.
Thanks for the video bro!! My only mistake was that I forgot to put the 3 screws bellow the motherboard and I want able to do it after because I have already applied the thermal paste 😅 But I think is not a big deal isn’t it? My ps4 is running supper smooth now and without a single noise!! Thanks again!!
The torque tightness for the screws on that S plate aren't really important. I've done several of these for some friends and always just made sure they were equally secure and not over tightened.
I've done 2 thermal paste jobs before on the older model ps4's i'm now working on a 1215b and I have that 1 wire with the blue tab that needs to be removed from the motherboard but your video doesn't show you removing it before you took out the mother board.. not 100% sure if i should be pulling upward on the short blue lil tab and don't want to break it. any suggestions?
Followed your tutorial bro, good with details and everything I put a little less paste than what you did. My ps4 still sounds like a jet unfortunately, I have the first ps4 model that came out back in 2013, so its 9 3/4 years old. I'm going to try again with putting a little extra paste. Wish me luck 🤞🏼 if it is the model, then ima upgrade the parts.
Make sure everything that secures the thermal paste is good like the middle bracket, metal pressure bracket, the screws are flattened out meaning the screws can’t go any further because it stops like if you hit a wall. That’s pretty much the critical part that’s responsible for the jet engine.
Awesome video, information and super funny. You had me cracking up haha, the number of times i looked at my screen like, wait what? then you were like naw jk hahahaha
Thx! This jokes are awesome🤣🤣🤣 And thx for great tips! Especially about scratch APU screws, to make stuff similar like in car engine timing belt system.
It’s probably a blue ribbon cable that u missed or it’s not all the way in or someone in your family probably jammed something in the disk that’s why it’s not taking the disk or something because I don’t really know what happened in your situation
@@FOURsCRUZ I sort it. All wires was ok. Just when I was unscrewing that screws from bottom I unscrew them from drive as well and it kind of slightly open itself and gear was misplaced. I put in right place and my ps is working so lovely now after cleaning.
got a question, I just got all my things together new thermal paste and stuff, but ngl I lost like 2 thermal pads lol you think it’ll still run alright if so? and about the 2 screws you talked about to keep the same torx as the manufacturer, will that be a problem if its just screwed 13 times on both sides, because I forgot to mark them.?
Thermal pads I’m pretty sure you’re going to need them because they were there in the first place. Secondly, for the two black screws that keep the thermal paste held together, just keep screwing until it flattens out. Remember it won’t get tighter. It’ll just literally stop you from screwing any further and don’t try to force the two screws to go any further.
@@FOURsCRUZ Just got everything put back together and man this shi sounds like nothing is even on 💀💀 runs all smooth and quiet af, ppreciate the advice 💥
thanks for the tutorial but my ps4 won't start, I have 21 screws left and I couldn't connect 3 ribbons, don't change, maybe one day I'll fix them - Jacob & Miłosz
I never dared trying this, but as soon as I get a hold of the ps5 I will see if this works for the ps4. It still works but its blowing air like crazy in almost every game. I did try opening it up and removing some dust but I guess it is due to thermal paste gone bad. It will often result in high fan speeds am I right? The ps5 will mostly make my ps4 obsolete so I could take the loss. But if it works it will be a nice console to have as a spare :)
My ps4 won’t turn on since December , but I have never bought a new thermal paste for it ima get one today , you think that’s going to help my ps4 come back ?
Well if you change the thermal paste before then u might get the same results but if you just used the same thermal paste when u cleaned it then that’s probably why it was over heating
My dad was helping me take apart my ps4 to put the thermal paste on and clean it, we used your video because you ps4 is the same as mine but after we put everything back together and plugged in the ps4 it won't turn on, any thoughts on what is wrong it obviously has something to do with the power source but I am not sure exactly what. The help would be appreciated.
First things first make sure your power button is clicking. Make sure all cables and especially the blue ribbon cables, and the power supply cord is plugged in. Finally make sure when you put the two metal shields that puts pressure on the thermal paste, that the 2 black screws are screwed in where it stops a.k.a. flattens out. Get back to me and try to do some research as well.
@@FOURsCRUZ me and and my dad just took it apart again and we realized that we didn't plug the power source into the motherboard all the way, and now it works better than ever
Re-post: this has been an awesome video, definitely the best out here but unfortunately my ps4 keeps overheating. I assume its the metal piece (radiator thingy) thats making contact with the paste, thus I cannot use my console… Even cleaned the paste again and added a bit tad more (less than what you put) and it still overheats…
@@FOURsCRUZ appreciate it bro but its ok, I think it might be a part or maybe something I missed ill keep looking and let u know if I make a breakthrough xD One more question, skip ur vid to 5:12 the metal bar with the paste that would be the heat sink? Bc Im thinking its either that wich will need to be cleaned better or replaced or it might be that whole piece (I mean the power supply) that might be the problem Something is messing with the cooling…
@@FOURsCRUZ one last question, the fan is suppose to run at all times right? Even if the play station is at a cool temp? I left the top opened and the fan wasn’t running, it only ran when it overheated Think I found the problem
@@SnowJ-1001 What do you mean you left the top open? 🤔 Did you solve this problem? I think I might have the same exact problem as you. My PS4 was fine before the repair, everything looked good after the repair, but I think I put too much thermal paste, and I couldn’t hear the fan anymore at the end, possibly messed up the “closing 2 clicks” part because I only heard one click.. lol. Mad at myself for trying to be proactive with this repair. Bro did a good job with the video though.. thanks for any reply.
@@dondollaz1832 Well I was confused bc I didn’t know why my console kept overheating, so I desided to leave the top open so I could see if the fan was running or not The fan should always be running, it should not stop. Mine stopped and turned on alot wich wasn’t normal so I bought a new fan and replaced it and it worked, so try that if you want
Great video, feel like personally i should just go to a repair shop tho lol, i feel like ill definitely mess something up, does anyone know much it would cost for someone to do this for you?
@@LaConan2027 that’s because it’s a “newer version” for the ps4 lineup Like the first one that came out was glossy with touch sensors for the power and eject “buttons” Then comes this ps4 version and it’s either the 2000 or the 3000 version (I think)
@@ciastko2003 the ps4 only needs thermal paste for the silver shiny ✨ square and as for the 8 ram “Matt Black square’s” surrounding the silver shiny one, that only needs thermal pads. Only if u lost one or more thermal pads
I would say not really but I was told that is one is better: ARCTIC MX-4 At Walmart or Amazon Make sure it’s MX-4 and not the MX-14 (incl. Spatula, 4 g) - Premium Performance Thermal Paste for all processors (CPU, GPU - PC, PS4, XBOX), very high thermal conductivity, long durability, safe application, non-conductive
@@FOURsCRUZ hello I took a break at got back to re assembly after I commented turns out I got to the end but I had many screws left over 🤦♂️ haven’t played a game yet it’s updating but it seems dead silent
I was with you all the way up until you globbed that thermal paste on. Hehe A thin even layer is all you need. Any more and the thermal paste will actually hold the heat in.
Did u check if all the black squared play-Doh like texture is on all the 8 ram core? and that u have the square metal shield? (that’s in between the 8 ram core because it contains the heat from reaching other components shielding them) and did you check if the long metal bracket is screwed in? (to the point we’re u can literally feel it stop) because it holds a specific pressure to hold the thermal paste in place, not to much to the point where there is no thermal paste on the GPU/CPU and not so little to the point where the heat isn’t able to dissipate/transfer from the GPU/CPU to the heat sink. Lmk if anything
@@FOURsCRUZ yea i replaced those but i think its the thermal paste because I bought some cheap thermal paste probably thats the problem I have my ps4 opened until i get better thermal paste
Ok then it’s probably the thermal paste then🤌🤌 And no I would not recommend using toothpaste and substitute for thermal paste🤣. Whoever told you that is most likely on crack, yes☕️🧐
@@FOURsCRUZ I diiiid, learned that i should not deal with ribbon cables ever again not even trying to be as careful as possible, the little plastic legit breaks off on me as soon as i get near a ribbon cable not joking with that but good video btw very entertaining.
I took mine to get cleaned and I was told the thermal gel needed to be replaced so I gave the ok… I let it sit about 4 hrs before trying to play and now once I play 3 mins in the game it turns off automatically. Can someone tell me what maybe wrong
So u took it to some place for it to get cleaned? And if that’s the case, then it might be the part where the two screws and the middle long piece that holds the CPU/GPU, thermal paste and heat sink to a certain pressure. It causes the blue light of death (it’s what it’s called) and in rare cases the red light of death if the pressure is not correct but it could also be caused by a component that is almost not working properly and is barely able to function. But I don’t know what your case is but anyways I just mentioned all that so that there isn’t a lot of back and forth.
Bruh🤣, hell nah it ain’t. If it didn’t have it in the first place then, yeah but it might for a lil bit but it won’t last long. If it’s “cracked” or whatever, just put them together and you’ll b fine. So either fine the ones u lost or u gonna have to buy some replacements cause if u don’t have them and u run ur ps4 then you’lol end up damaging 1 of your rams and if that happens then you will either have to spend even more money just to fix something that could’ve been prevented or buy a whole as new console 🤷♂️this better make sense to u🤌🤌
@@FOURsCRUZ ending up getting a new console, old one kept overheating and was bout to take off anyways. Plus was missing one thermal pad so it wasn't gonna work anyways
@@DefinitelyNotAround he said it was bout 2 take off 🤣🤌🤌 but aye save your old one (if u have thrown it already🤨) and get that thermal pad for the Gaga rams and try to see if that fixes it so u can either sale it, gift it, or have it as a back up. The choice is up to u🫵 now.
Bro i Used Thermal paste to Fix This Ps4 To hot Problem Last Year 2021 now After 1years I Diwnload The Warzine 100Gb game Its Saying Ps4 too hot Uf i play zany other Game Its Not Saying So Whats the Problem Should i clean ps Or Again Thermal?? PLEASE REPLY Your Subscribet😁
Yeah eye caught that 🤣, don’t worry bro eye struggle wit England-ish. As 4 dat ps four problem, the two main causes is your memory and clean everything and re-put thermal paste. If doesn’t work the ps four might not b able 2 run warzone anymore. So do those two things and then get back to me mate.
Yo bro I have a problem with my diac drive, it's not putting any cds in automatically. I checked all the blue wires and it's still not working. Is there a way to fix it?
Hmmm 🤔. Well there’s not much to say 🤷♂️but☝️🤨. If u r certain that everything is in its place, then u might wanna check for other videos related to your disc issue. Like, was it working fine before u open it? R u sure that the blue ribbon cables r facing the right way? And not the other way? Did u open the disc drive on accident😅, cause I did say not to open it up after I did remove it on accident😅. I would say test the disc drive by pressing the physical eject ⏏️ button on the ps4 a couple of times and then try to put in a test disc that u don’t care about, so u don’t end up scratching it. Lmk(let me know) about the details in your situation.
