You just saved my LIFE!! it worked !! I typed the password wrong and couldn't guess it. I have a presentation tomorrow morning and without you I wouldn't be able to do it!! Actually I would be jobless by the afternoon :'D Thank you
Fantastic trick and was easy. I was one of the those who doesn't show the XL folder and the post on the comments made me find its way. Kudos to the uploader and those who commented.
Thank you so very very much for these instructions - they've just saved my bacon at work! :) Very easy instructions, worked first time. Thank you (x100000000)
This works like a charm. IF YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES GETTING THE XML FILE TO GIVE YOU THE OPTION TO "OPEN WITH", drag the xml "page file" to your desktop. Then Right Click -> Open with -> Notepad. Once in Notepad, click EDIT -> FIND. Type "password", which makes it so you don't have to search through all the mumbo-jumbo. Clear the the contents as he shows in the video. Save the file and close it. Drag it back to the extraction folder. Exit out of everything and rename the file back to xlsx. And that should be it. Once it works, you can delete the XML file you dragged to your desktop that is still there. This works in windows 10, and I'm pretty sure you don't need an extraction tool, as windows 10 has one built in.
Kudos to you....and I feel so much smarter now! I have a lot of info on the worksheet and "password" was like trying to Find Waldo in Notepad... but mission accomplished.....Worked great...Thanks !
Thanks a Lot sir.. !! I was unable to do it for the first 3,4 times.. but then after few attempts I was able to do it perfectly..!! It works very easily and smoothly Thank You!!
this is password protected sheet, and not password protected file..the easier way to do this is press alt+f11 and there you will find the password for the "sheet"...again, this will not work for password protected file
Bro Ur Like God To me ...... i've unlocked important excel sheet .... thank you very much ..... i've watched lot of videos but not perfected but ur video is very clean and neat content .......... God Bless u bro.....
Thank you. Actually, it is even better to remove whole XML block about sheet protection, because in some new version it has been made using more logic. If you remove whole it will work.
this worked great for my windows, but unsure how to do this on my Mac? Thank you soooooo much. Life saver!!!! Can you tell us how to do this with MAC. I was unable to find the View menu to click on the "hide extensions....."
@@orockjackson7794 Hi . I have a file one sheet has been hidden with password so macros doesn't work even I have enabled macro can you please help me to unprotect the hidden sheet which have a password. I need to run Demo but can't do it. Thanks
thanks duude alot works fine you just need to save it to newer excel extennsion version. Open your excel file and go save as word 2007 or later version it should be name.xlsx
Can you use this to decrypt a fully password protected Excel 2013 file? When I open the ZIP can I remove a different section of the file since I don't have Sheet Protection to remove?
it worked to do everything you said, the only thing it didn't work was to remove the password protection at the end.. it still asks for a password.. it cannot just be unticked . I'musing a mac btw.. maybe that will have a meaning for you. do I need to do anything different on a mac? Thanks
Great tutorial, however when I tried to open it with NotePad, it didn't give me an option and just opened it in Internet Explorer window and I couldn't delete the "password", please advise, thank you
