Thank you sooo much for posting this video. You saved the day. My battery died and trunk wouldn’t open but with the manual pull I was able to open the trunk and charge the battery. Thank you again!
Hey Ron, your advice is no good if you can’t unlock the door, how do you get in the car if the battery‘s dead and you actually locked your car like you’re supposed to?
Hi Ron not sure if you'll see this but I had my gt sit for about a week and I was able to get it started but now I'm getting weird error messages and the auto transmission wont shift (have to use the paddles) is this an indication of a low voltage battery?
Happens all of the time. The active/passive entry on these cars tend to constantly draw battery. I recommend keeping the car on a trickle charger if you're not driving it but once a week.
I am not sure but there's must be a pin under the steering wheel column to unleash the key that get stuck on the ignition within a dead battery. I am not sure about this in a Maserati, I am just guessing from my experience.
+Rons Rides yes. one time I have a flat battery in my Alfa 166 and get the key stuck. luckily I figure out to remove the key the hard way and a few years later :-) , I found out in the car manual there is a release button under the steering column right under the ignition key. it must have the same in the Maserati, that's what I am guessing. Please, check the car manual for it.
I just look for a manual of a 2015 Maserati grandturismo and they describe a way to remove the key when key unlock system fail: "In the event that the key unlocking system fails or if it is not possible to shift the gearshift lever to P, to remove the key you must turn it to STOP (OFF), then remove the cap A using a pen or sufficiently pointed tool, then press the button just uncovered and at the same time extract the key. Once the key has been removed, refit the cap A.( pag 133 - chapter 5)"
Ohhh thats perfect!!! Thank you for your help. I know no one at the dealer taught me how to do that so I didnt think it was possible. Appreciate the info!
Thanks alot! I didn't know where to start. I knew if I Google it I would of found out how to open the trunk. The video is way better. Left my car sitting in my girls driveway for about a month. I cussed her ass out when my battery died because every time I go to take my car out she talk me into driving one of the other cars because I drive too fast in my MC turismo. Why the truck don't have a slot to put the key in to open it anyway? Had the car for over a year and never even checked
