The Balcony skylight shade is one of our most popular products, especially in the heat of the summer. It is available in Symphony light filtering and black out double cell (honeycomb) fabrics and can be mounted vertically, horizontally or at any angle. Here I have a Light Filtering balcony shade. You will see that it comes with a handle, much like on a kitchen drawer. To open the shade, simply grasp the handle and lift up. To close, grasp the same handle and pull down. The shade operates on a tension system so it does not take much strength to open or close.
Since skylights are often out of reach, we have an optional expanding pole featuring a "J" Hook that operates the shade. They are available in 3-6 foot or 6-12 foot lengths. Simply connect the hook with the handle and push up or down.
Although most commonly mounted in a vertical orientation, Balcony skylight shades can also be mounted horizontally for wide and short openings.
