The old add-age is true people will tolerate bad video but they will sign-off when there's bad Audio so you gotta get it right. In this video we go over the optimal audio settings for your livestream. I also give an example of what different Mics sound like as well. Enjoy!

Great video brother. Iv been trying to figure out how to improve my audio in streamyard. You definitely did a great job and it's clear you're more in tune with it than I am. Lol. I hope you nothing but success for your channel.

Thank you for this! I am going to give this a try to improve our choir’s music on Streamyard. We are using a Focusrite 2i2 and the audio is sounding shaky when they sing but great during spoken parts.

I use Streamyard to produce mostly live content. I recently purchased a Shure MV7 microphone to use with my GH5 and noticed that there is some lag/syncing issue between the audio and video. I plug the mic directly into my MacBook. How do I eliminate this audio/video syncing problem?

Thanks for your comment and support of the channel. Unfortunately StreamYard has no built in function to deal with this which means third party software is required. I use Audio Hijack but it’s a Mac only application. 2 METHODS FOR AUDIO VIDEO SYNC ON A MAC | Using Ecamm or Audio Hijack paired with Loopback ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fwWTNqZLlgc.html I believe Voicemeter Banana works for Windows and SY has a video on that.

When I go on a friend's stream with or without earphones those viewing are hearing echo type sounds. I only have Android phone

Thanks so much for your comment and support of the channel. Unfortunately there isn't much I can offer by way of a solution to this issue. I don't recommend streaming from a Phone and I require all my guests to use a desktop or laptop for the best experience.

What about when your audio and video are not synced ? I don't have any sync offset options if I use Streamyard options. Any help ?

Are you on a Mac or Windows? If a Mac there is a software solution called AudioHijack from Rogue Amoeba. Alternatively you can connect your mic directly to your camera. The capture card will give you both video and audio and should be in sync. This assumes your using a DSLR camera with a capture card.

@@kirkrnugent Im on a PC, and I'm using the Nikon 6 camera. I'm such a noob with connections. I tried connecting my audio from my Scarlett Solo to the side of the camera, but it's so frustrating. Even if I connect the right cords, will it override and turn off the mic on the camera itself ?

Hey thanks for the comment and support of the channel. Out of synch video/audio is caused by audio and video getting to the system at different times. Usually caused by a capture card or something which can’t be removed. What is your setup?

Hello Kirk! Very helpful video. I have a question as I am trying to troubleshoot an ongoing issue. I use an external USB Mic (Yeti X Pro). Every time I go on any of my friends StreamYard videos, StreamYard automatically reduces my mic volume to 30-40%. My voice ends up fading in and out. Before the last live, I turned off the "automatic gain control" in the SY settings. It didn't make any difference. I had to keep turning my mic volume back up. Is this something the Host can control? Not sure what else I can do. Thanks!

Hey JJacks61 thanks so much for your comment and support of the channel. That's an odd issue, have you checked with Support? Turning off Automatically Adjust Mic Volume is what I would've done too and Yes the Host can control it too but it's the same setting that the guest can see and adjust as well. Along with turning off automatic gain control also turn off echo cancellation and turn on stereo audio but in order to do this be sure you are wearing headphones. If you've already tried that and/or you try it and it doesn't work definitely drop a like to StreamYard support to see if they can assist. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I’m trying to get my keyboards and mic IN streamyard. It is a pain at times and I get discouraged. Could you please tell me if I need to open my DAW and then open streamyard? I am getting NOTHING…. 🙃

Completely missed this comment so sorry for the delay. Thanks so much for commenting and watching. Can you share more about your setup? Do you have an Audio interface? Like a Focusrite Scarlett, MAudio Air, or a Rodecaster Pro? The best way to get your keyboard into StreamYard is to have an Audio interface where you connect your instruments and microphone and then connect it USB to your computer and then select that interface in Streamyard. That's what I do and I hope it helps.

We use Streamyard for church live streams and have been having audio syncing issues. Is there a fix for this?

There are a few ways to achieve audio sync but they depend on your setup. Can you share how audio and video is getting to StreamYard? If you’re using an audio interface and a capture card or switcher like an atem mini you can use an application like Audio Hijack to delay the audio and bring it back into sync.

@@kirkrnugent We have the camera running to the an Elgato capture card to the streaming computer. We run the audio from the Behringer X18 to a Focusrite 212 to the streaming computer.

@@devanslive007 yes my church is almost the exact same. On a Mac you can use Audio HiJack to delay the audio so it syncs up. On a Windows machine I don't know of any software applications.

No matter how I configure my headset and mic I CANNOT HEAR MYSELF while live-streaming. The audience can but I can’t. Is this why U need a soundboard ⁉️

Thanks for the comment and support of the channel. Not everyone wants to hear themselves when recording or streaming but I find so helpful to hear myself so I can adjust how I'm' speaking to deliver a point. Natively just using built in mics you won't hear yourself, it's not a feature of StreamYard or any other streaming platform. Depending on your Mic you might have a monitor port on it, in which case you wouldn't need a sound board although most sound boards have a built-in way for you to monitor your sound as well. What type of mic do you have?

I JUST TODAY got a ZealSound Mic that has a headset port on it AND IT WORKS!!! :) I can not tell you how many hours I've spent monkeying around with all this audio only to have my audience say "I can't hear what you're saying". I've tried so many sound boards but didn't really need them since I can do all my recording for videos with iMovie and GarageBand. All I needed was just to hear myself while live streaming and finally this mic does exactly what I needed WHEW! What to do with all my new found time?! LOLZ! Again, thank you, this is so totally frustrating to monkey around with audio, lighting, cameras when as a new channel I need to be creating content! God Bless You Sir!
