How do you organise your TBR?

I used to use Goodreads, but I currently use The Storygraph because this offers the possibility to filter the TBR pile, something that Goodreads lacks of. I found this option very useful because I easily find the kind of book I want to read, based on the mood, pace, type, genres, length, etc. This is a wonderful option.

@@YeshuaLR I was going to include this in the video but it was getting a bit long. But another reason for me doing this is to make it much easier to have Goodreads and The StoryGraph going at the same time. Hopefully transitioning fully over. Because Goodreads has many problems and the lack of features is just one of them.

I use StoryGraph. I use tags. I only use my Want to read shelf for books I want to read this month or soon. Most of the time about 20 on there, which is a good number for me.

One thing i would also recommend is to give prioritization for the books. For example: i have them tags on storygraph (recently shifted from goodreads and trying it out alongside goodreads) that are called “shortlist 1”, “shortlist 2”, etc. That way, i know which books i want to read more than others at the time.

Meanwhile I have literally 1603 books in my TBR on Storygraph xD but I never have trouble deciding what to read next. The top shelf in my bookshelf is for my physical unread books and I usually only buy digital books if they are from a series I already started or if I read the sample and want to keep reading. But I do keep a special tag/shelf to keep track of my unread owned books, and one of "stuff I would like to read this year (probably). Also I created a catalogue in notion of the media I am consuming (books, movies, tv series) so I can go there when I'm not sure what to do with my leisure time.

Wow that's quite the TBR but so good that you have no trouble picking what to read next! Do you donate a lot of books once you're done reading?

@@GinaLuciaReads Yes! When I moved houses 4 years ago I donated a lot of books, and since then I haven't bought many physical books. I follow the KonMari phylosophy and only keep those books that spark joy to me n.n To be honest, my TBR is more like "that book sounds cool! Maybe I'll read it someday" that feeds from trips to the bookstore, friend recommendations, and booktubers.
