I recently found your channel. I appreciate your no nonsense approach. You also have a calming voice that does not grate on my nerves😅. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions.
I am just getting started organizing my craft room and I have watched a lot of RU-vid videos. This is a fabulous idea! I can’t wait to get the sleeves and organize my paper. Thank you!
OMStars! I just found you and watched this wonderful vid of how you organize your 12x12 paper scraps! I LOVE LOVE this idea and will definitely implement this brilliant technique into my studio. I am in awe of the organization and color scheme of the shelving behind you, too! It looks totally AH-MAZE-ING! I really appreciate the little tips that you incorporated into this vid...esp. the one about lining up the tabs/labels so that they look nice and clean. (I'm a lil' OCD, myself, so watching you do that made me smile!) Thank you for sharing! I will definitely be pulling up more of your videos and see the magic you display! Woot!!
I love this idea. I enjoy watching your videos. You have the best tips. I sold my home and moved in with my parents. I put most of my stuff into storage. A couple years ago I moved my stuff from storage to my fathers huge garage. It just sat there. I recently started going through the many boxes and downsizing my belongings. I have been using your tips and tricks. I never imagine I had so much unnecessary junk. Thank you for your ideas and tips.
Thank you for the comment about standing the papers upright with the foam core board. You have been a huge inspiration for me to continue with craft cube studio. Keep'm coming. 👍👍
I loved the old librarian trick!! I had totally forgotten. I will be adding something to my storage area to make it easy for me instead of frantically searching in the moment.
I haven't even watched this, but just the name got me inspired. I suddenly feel the need to organise my papers. Yay. I'll watch videos when I run pout of steam.
Saw this as your no 4 project from today's video... and had to come see as my left over scap papers are totally out of control. this is an awesome idea. thanks for sharing.
I LOVE this! I will definitely be doing this paper sorter! Thank you for the detailed how-to and the foam board support & place-holder tips. Loving your videos!
I enjoyed seeing how you store not only your 12 x 12 paper but the also the scraps. I currently use a notebook divided by colors, but it's overflowing with my paper scraps. Your system will be easier by far for storing both.
That's how I used to store my scraps too - but I'd always forget to check first before cutting into my full sheet! It wasn't until I'd go to put the scrap away that I'd realize I already had scraps. This system has been amazing for me!!!!
I do love the idea of using the page protectors! The Posh Paper Lady mentioned that she makes a pocket of paper and attaches it to the back inside backer to her paper pad so she has the scraps to each pad in the back. I think we could use a page protector also; though her idea would be more cost effective for the pad scraps. I watched this video of yours some time ago and have always kept it in mind for use when I actually find time to craft. I love how you think!
Great storage ideas! I did something similar back in the day - before 12”x12” paper! 😂 I definitely need to organize all my 12” paper. I love your system and I love color! TFS!
I am inspired~! My scaraps are currently in small postal boxes. they are labeled very nicely and sit on an shelf in an old metal cabinet i found on the side of the road. I painted it and it looks so nice now. My solid 12 x 12 papers are in a set of bigger postal boxes, of course, decorated. My patterened are in a combo of the books they came in on a shelf in the afore mentioned cabinet, 12 x 12 project boxes and the also afore mentioned bigger postal boxes. They are all in different places. I REALLY like that ALL of your paper is in one location in an organized manner. I will have to think on this for awhile. It will take some tweaking to make it fit my space and supply. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I am also a new subbie, i was so inspired. Thanks
I did lots of purging while I did this.... I bought lots of coordinated pads when I first started scrap booking over a decade ago. There were multiple pages in those pads that I didn't like then. I had to laugh at myself for still having them. They are now in a box waiting to find a classroom or senior center to donate to! :)
Awesome idea. I am flipping two rooms in my home.....my dining room is now my new style and design lab......many of your tutorials have and are going to be my go to for ideas . Thank you for sharing. 🌹❤️🌹
thankyou sooooooo much for this! i have so much paper that i never know what i have and i end up using just what's towards the top of the stacks or i'm digging out heavy stacks of paper to look for the color i'm wanting/needing. thankyou sooooo much! i absolutely love your how to organizational videos as they help me tremendously! your videos are the go to place to go to and i highly recommend everyone to subscribe to your channel!!!
Oh my goodness! You have no idea what all I have in my craft room, and one of the things I cannot part with is my scrap paper! I have moved from scrapbooking to journaling, card making, and watercoloring. Not to mention many other endeavors. But this is such a fabulous idea!!! I have been promising myself to redo my studio for 2 years, but all I do is keep bringing things in and very little is going out. But this is something I can tackle and feel like I'm making some progress! Thanks!!
Excellent video! I like the idea, the focus on function and not just the aesthetic. I appreciate the multiple options you showed, and the tips on ways to keep it inexpensive. Thanks for sharing!
I honestly love this idea. I have been casting about to try and find the best way to store 12 x12 paper and I have the scraps separately but in colour which is great. I will now use this idea to put the full colour papers behind the scraps in the photo sleeves. Thank you.
I use an old file cabinet with the hanging folders labeled for each color to store my paper. I use sheet protectors to store the scraps in the hanging folder with the same colors. 😊
Wow, what a fastidiously neat and pretty system! I was going crazy trying to find a easy, neat and accessible method of scrap containment also. But, my ADHD brain would not allow me to focus long enough to complete the set up of such a system as yours. I can’t tell you how in awe I am by what you have done here! Knowing myself however, I went with a less brain-straining method. I bought a 5 drawer Bisley metal storage cabinet (somewhat pricey initial cost, I’ll admit) and assigned broad color families to each drawer: Cool colors, warm colors, black/brown/grey, white/cream/beige, and metallics/specialty papers, etc. Patterned papers are thrown in to each drawer based on their dominant color. Pastels are also based on color temperature. Pinks go in with the warm colors like red, yellow and orange, for instance. Each drawn is a communal mess, but when I need to coordinate a color, I can remove a drawer based on which broad category it fits within, place it on my work table, and paw through the jumble until I find a possible match. (Insert shoulder shrug emoji here) Five drawer Bisley cabinets fit nicely within IKEA Kallax cubes, so my scream-worthy messy paper scrap system is out of sight, and memics the appearance of an organized mind. I’m sure you would probably find this system completely unsatisfactory-and I don’t blame you! But, it’s about the best system I’m currently capable of implementing.
Perfect !! Exactly the system I have been needing .. Thank you for sourcing out the dividers .. and it really would be super easy to create tabs like the ones you have used.. and I also like the look of those best .. : D great video ! Thanks again ... !
I really love your videos. Very easy for us crafters to recreate these ideas with what we have available to us. I wish we had more stores like Michael’s and Hobby Lobby in Australia the ones we have are very hit and miss. One of my biggest bug bears is not being able to get the same style or Color containers or boxes 6 months after buying my first lot. I want to be able to expand my storage supplies over time with the same containers that I already have at a reasonable price over the long term not end up with miss matched containers. A girl can dream.
OMG! That bugs me too!!!! I buy containers for my clients on a regular basis.... when I go back even a month later - they are gone!!!! Ugh! I get discount stores, as they are getting clearance/discontinued items. But Target? That's why I usually go with white - it almost 100% matches, even if it's a different shape/style. Thanks for watching! :)
Thank you for an information filled video with lots of clever ideas. You have a very pleasant way of giving that information to your viewers. I live in eastern Nebraska, and my local Hobby Lobby stores inform me that they have never accepted their competitor's coupons. Last Fall, our local Michael's stores told me that they were stopping their policy of accepting competitor's coupons. The policy must vary across the U.S. I see that several more of your videos have popped up on my UT side bar, so I'm off to catch up on some more of your clever tips on organization. Another new subscriber.
This is such a good idea, I am in the process of setting up a new craft room, trying to get things organized before the move in. Thank you for all of your great ideas.
A few suggestions: I have my own craft room. At first, I thought having cabinets with doors would be a great idea. In hind sight, I would have open shelves with only a few cabinets with doors. Also, my counters are standard height. After the room was finished, I developed arthritis in my back and couldn’t use a task chair to work at the regular size counters and ended up using a card table in the center of the room. In hind sight, again, I would have two levels of counters; one level for sitting and one level for standing.
I just found you and have loved your videos I live in a 5th wheel and keeping organize is a must , I do card and 3d paper Crafts and my leftover paper is a big pain this is a great thank you
Wow this is a great idea! I had them in a plastic organizer by color but loosely this is a much better solution. I am kind of OCD too. Thanks for sharing you are so helpful & inspiring.
Thanks for all the wonderful tips for organizing, especially the craft area. My guest room is about to get purged and cleaned, and made into my paper crafting area. It's gonna take some time, but I am encouraged and excited to get going. I have a bunch of the 12x12 page protectors and tons of labels to get started with this part.
@@TheCraftyOrganizer I watched your video discussing collectors vs hoarders. I must confess I am a hoarder, but that is about to change. I have been working on purging my closet (donating clothing, shoes, and other things to a thrift store that support hospice. It feels so good to let go of things I have been holding onto so that someone else can be helped. I am getting a good workout, losing weight and cleaning out the clutter.
I love this ideal. It is clean and takes up less space. I am using a wire tower to hold my paper and it is wasted space. I will convert to this. Much better. Thanks or sharing.
Thank you! I’m in the same process, using the page protectors but I am still putting them in the large binders because for me I don’t have much room for plastic bins. Love the idea of labeling, maybe even just a piece of colored card, like red for example would work for a label.. Also I thought that I would put some scraps (I probably have more than you) on the other side of the white paper just to spread out the scraps a bit more. I like your idea of putting the paper behind the scraps but I have too much of that too! Oh my!💕
Wonderful video as always. The only thing is that unfortunately, all these stores mentioned no longer accept each others coupons. Bummer, I know but that's what we've come to. Thank you again for all your wonderful ideas for storage and organization. :)
I hope you get this comment. Seems like I am very, very late in seeing this video and I love knowing how to store all of the paper! What size is the container that you are using, brand name, and where to buy it. Such a great idea for all of us that needed help with this n
Just wanted to say this was a great tutorial.....I watched some days ago.... Update..... Went to hobby lobby today.......score..... Got my sheet protecters on sale..........$1.24.......yeeeeeeeeees.........$1.24..... per pack. I was kind of greedy......😊bought all 7 packs. Now the fun begins. Thank you again.......for sharing this idea. 🌹❤️🌹
such an amazing idea here again I will be using this as well! Thank you so much for your help to get my place organized! I just found your pages and I wish I would have found you sooner!
Hi Noreen. Just watched this episode. Just a thought. If people would like to do the tabs like yours, they could take colored card stock and place the stickers on them, then just place them into place.
I have a Hobby Lobby in my town and they will only use their own cupons . They won't accept any other cupons . However Michael's and Jo Ann's will except any one elses cupons. Please double check your Hobby Lobby and ask them about this. I don't want you to get in trouble saying something that might. I really enjoy your videos and I want to continue to be able to see them. Best of Luck in everything you do. I really have learned a lot from you and your videos. Keep up all the good work.
New subscriber! Great idea! Right now I have my paper in three different systems...hardest part for me is making a decision about which system I like best...then sticking with it. 😥
Very nice looking.....I am giving all my scrap to the local senior center. As of first of year I'm going to try and make cards with small scraps right away and bigger pieces go on shelf with that color.... We'll see how this works..... Lol
I use the file pockets from the dollar store. I use a crap ton of pattern paper. So the 12 pocket folders work great. And then I can take my pad and the folder with the scraps out. And the kraft, black, and white all have their own drawer cuz I use a lot of those lol
Perfect video for me as I am reorganizing my craft room and have a ton of scrapbooking paper.what size container did you use to place all of your filled paper protectors? I love the idea of placing the rigid foam behind each section to prevent the paper bending. I am so glad I found you and finding you today when I’m in the midst of all this paper clutter was just MIRACULOUS!!! Thank you so much!
Great video..... I just got out my scraps as they're getting out of control....I had the urge to just dump them in the trash but that's like throwing away gold..... I've got them in a decorative box... I'm thinking of doing them like you did and slipping them in my paper rack by color etc... Maybe I'd use them more if they're mixed in with papers rather than in separate box... We'll see 😁
