You don't know how much I need and appreciate your video. I'm going to put my lace on the cards too. This will be great because I'm trying to organize my craft room and it's quite overwhelming. TFS!
Love this idea for my cheap Dollar Tree ribbons! I have a ton, I went to Amazon and ordered 200 cards for $17.99 Yay! I have my good ribbon displayed on shoe rack, but my cheap ribbon is going in a storage bin. Thank you! ❤❤
I don’t know if you’ll see this since your video is a year old. But I LOVE your idea! This is the ONLY idea I’ve come across that doesn’t expect people to have a huge craft room. I bought the cards & I’ve been doing small chunks at a time. I had no idea how much I had!! Anyway, thanks for explaining it so well & thanks for the idea. I’ve liked & subscribed. ❤
One suggestion is to take a picture of your baskets and keep the photos in a readily accessible album on your phone because when you’re out shopping, you will not be able to remember what you actually have so you can refer to the photos. You can probably also tell by zooming in approximately how much is on the spool. I think this is a great idea. I actually have these cards in my cart because I’ve been thinking of the different ways to redo mine. I have smaller pieces and scraps wound on short, fat tags and they’re on a ring. It looks cute and I hang it on a hook on my craft supply shelves. I have several scraps of fabric strips stored that way too. I’m going to redo my spool ribbon though and I don’t have an overwhelming amount. Thank you for your great demo of actually doing it, it helps. I will say that I made my own like you did here for my wrapping ribbon years ago and I was never happy with the thin cardboard because those tabs just bend and their purpose is ruined. I suggest gluing two together or using thicker cardboard. It’s really best to just order them if you can. I have also used paper towel rolls and I wind my ribbons that I get on packages that I want to keep and reuse on them. You can get a lot on there and I keep them in my gift wrapping bin. I also accordion fold some of them and throw in there. That works for wired ribbon but not so much for unwired.
I’ve Been Organizing My Craft Room Since Hobby Lobby Clearance Has Started. Just Last Night I Saw a “Portion” of my Ribbon In a Rolling Drawer Full, Have Some on a Shelf, In My Craft Closet & Even in My “Overflow” Room. I Will Probably Flip When I Get It All Gathered & Look at Them. I’ve Also in the Past Bought Sale/Out of Season Ribbons For Like a Quarter, Fall, Christmas Etc. I Too Have Duplicates I’m Sure! I Have an Idea ForAfter You Have Sorted All of It & Placed in Containers To Take a Picture of Them in the Bin & That Way Uf Your at Hobby Lobby(Sale) or $Tree You Can Look at Your Phone if You Cant Remember if You Have the One Your Looking at! Thank You So Much For Taking the Time to Do Your Videos, I Love Them, Just Started Watching & They are Very Easy to Follow & Very Inspiring!
This is great, thanks! I'm gonna make my own from cardboard from boxes, cheaper and more accessible, so I don't have to wait. Got sooo much loose ribbon I've collected over the years and it's a big mess.
I’m waiting for my cards so i started using cardboard and I can’t believe how much space I have now still have more to go but thank you so much for your video
If you can find a pantry rack made for holding baking pans that’s wide enough you could stand your wreaths up in that and cover them with a clear garbage bag or something. You could make something like that with cardboard and duct tape and make your slots as wide as you need. Just start with a box and add walls for each wreath. This way you could see what you have and wouldn’t have to take all of them out if you want the bottom one if they were stacked, plus they wouldn’t get smashed. If you are worried about the bottoms getting smashed, make the box sturdy enough and add some pvc pipe or Dowell’s or spring loaded rods and hang each wreath over a box. That way they can all sit on a shelf in your garage or closet. 🙂
You could get bull dog clips and clip your florals upside down by the stems onto hangers. Any bits and pieces could be placed in a zip lock and clipped on as well. Organize by color or holiday or season. If you’re thinking you have nowhere to hang them, put up a wire shelf in your garage or laundry room if you can and hang them there and you can easily flip through them and pick what you want. If it’s too dusty in the garage or shed, etc, get a clear garbage bag and poke a hole in the bottom and cover them like they do at the dry cleaners. If the sun and fading is an issue, cover with a black garbage bag and then you can label the top of the bags as to what’s inside and easily lift the bag to see them. You could also hang a bug repellent on the hanger that smells good like cinnamon or mint. 🙂
I was going to do rain gutters. I really like your idea better. It takes up less room and I can put it into a drawer. I will put mine in order by color or seasons. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been subscribed for many months. Please put my name in the drawing for the napkins! I also want to thank you for your sharing your beautiful talents and your faith in Christ! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️ P.S. I love this idea and plan on organizing my ribbons!
Great idea!! I found templates in 4 sizes for the spools on Pinterest. I going to try to cut the spools out of medium weight chipboard I have on hand. If it gets to be too time consuming, I’ll order the spools. My husband passed in December & I’m in the process of downsizing. This will allow me to hold on to more of the ribbon.
