Watched this plus a few others before reseed my lawn that had almost died in the middle. Four weeks later I was amazed with the results. Now planning to reseed again in September 2020
Thank you very much, excellent video ... unlike other videos you take the time to show how things can be done manually, even if you haven't got the specific tools can't wait to get started today
This is something I need to do, having just spent time scarifying my moss filled lawn, hopefully I haven’t messed up doing it now, but I shall follow the advise in this video to overseer. Very useful video
Fantastic video, watched a few of these but this has been the best by far because you don't waffle on, your video gives you what you need in a very well presented informative video
Thank you this is so helpful! The first video I watched on RU-vid wanted me to buy about 10 different products and tools... this seems like the good ol' fashioned way that might require a little more elbow grease but a lot less money!
And happily, it's not really more effort at all this way. Dealing with extra products and tools is a pain in itself.... and don't even get me started on dropspreaders - a big energy drain.
Hi just watched and thankfully realized I do it the same way, although I do usually add topdressing on top to keep birds off. How well do you find this way stops the bird activity? . From one uk lawn care addict to another, take care 😊. Keep up the great content!
Purchased the shoulder spreader based on your excellent supportive videos. Would you mind advising what setting you were using in this clip, please? I found that I was on practically the lowest setting for fertiliser once I'd performed the required maths. Thank you.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I have just scarifier my lawn which is now looking a bit bare. I also added a combined fertiliser and weed killer which says I shouldn't over seed for 2 weeks. When I do overseed, will I need to add more fertiliser? Can I walk on the grass after overseeding? Thanks for your help. Regards
@@LawnsmithTV hi I have used electric lawn raker and. Aerated with metal tines but haven't got a scarifier ? Do I really need one? Also do I really need the fertiliser broadcaster or can I do that by hand. I have a seed spreader but seems I don't really need it.i only have 25sqm lawn
Emmanual, you need to rake or scarify first as in the first video of the playlist www.lawnsmith.co.uk/lawn-care-videos/aerate-rake-scarify/scarify-rake-lawn.htm
During germination can i step on the lawn to move around and place the sprinkler at different spots, will it not damage the young grass popping out of the seed if i step on it?
When should you apply TOPSOIL?? BEFORE seeding, so the seed has nice new soil to fall onto, or AFTER, hence covering the seed lightly? Many thanks. Thank you for your SUPERB VIDEOS Teddy UK
So is it correct to add fertiliser directly after seeding. Or is the video cut over multiple days? Ps wish you were still active on youtube. Your websites Awesome!
A good video and very informative. Just two questions.1 How much seed in grams per square metre should I use. 2. What fertiliser should I use and how much per square metre for overseeding.
Please see this article for our advice on when we would apply a top dressing - www.lawnsmith.co.uk/lawn-care-advice/soil-lawn-top-dressing/why-apply-top-dressing
Hi Margaret. Nice to have a big lawn which as you say is difficult to water therefore time your seeding to coincide with wetter weather just as the farmer does.
