@@kashif4463 its like 3070=6700xt>3060ti. Depends on the games as well, but more or less like this. For amd cards get sapphire or power color red devil
Hi, do you think it's okay that you can't set less than 30% of the speed of the video card coolers, it makes me shiver that my fans are spinning during downtime.
Further tips for tweaking: The vram can easily do 17GHz and sometimes more since they are rated at 16GHz. Flat curve from 900mv on my 3060 tuf oc and frequency of 2100MHz gave me a 5-8% boost depending on game from stock and consumption dropped to 145-155W vs 170W stock :) In Shadow of the tomb raider I got a boost from 118fps avg to 125fps avg at 1080p highest using this :)
Thats pretty nice, my RAM OC just won't go further though, and in some games i get around 2150MHz on core. As for temps and watts, yep they can go down with undervolting. It is just no intuitive on MSI afterburner
Wow! I'm running 1950MHz at 900mV and I thought I was already stretching my card :') I'll might try pushing the core clock higher, for the Vram overclock I wouldn't want to go higher than 16Gbps
@@renan6509 all the 3060 I have heard of uses Samsung 16GHz rated vram downclocked to 15GHz. Why Nvidia downclocks you have to ask them about, maybe saving 5W? All other 30-series GDDR6 cards uses 14GHz vram (Hynix, Micron, Samsung) running at 14GHz to my knowledge, 3060 is the exception.
I could listen to your voice all day hahah it actually had me paying attention for this whole video which is rare for me. Great tutorial! Short, straight to the point and easy to follow. Looks like I am stable at 150. 200 allowed me to drop onto the map in fortnite but crashed within like 25 seconds.
Amazing guide. Recently got 3060 Gigabye Gaming OC one and tried overclocking it. With this guide i managed to get 2205MHz stable core clock and +1100MHz on the VRAM. Thank you!
@@hasanzabeast6223 No need to increase gpu fans at all, i actually lowered them a tiny bit to avoid loud noise and overclocked by +75hz and memory with +1100mhz. Didn't want to screw around with the curve editor tbh. The performance gain is a bit less than 10% and id unly use it if you cant hit your monitors refreshrate. I use the gpu undervolted to draw 0.8v max and use that 90% of the time
Subbed just for your awesome intro: "All GPUs are different. All will have different binning. All of them will overclock differently." Nice. Keeping it real!
Thanks Fabio, good video as usually. :) You can combine both OC and UV. In Afterburner curve editor, mark all clock steps right of the value for, say 912 mV using SHIFT plus holding left mouse button. Drag the marked values under clock speed / voltage value for 912 mV. Afterburner equals it automatically. Now you can raise the complete curve pressing ALT to 250 or 300 MHz after that (333 MHz stable for me). You can use the clock steps with low voltage for higher clocks in this way. Fast, quiet and stable for me. :)
@@Agustin_Delascompus I only used voltages until 912 mV and flated the curve with higher clocks and voltages. It doesn't boost beyond 1852 MHz anymore. It is unstable with 970 mV and 1920 MHz. It works until 1850 MHz only.
i’ve had my EVGA XC3 Black 3070 for a bit now, decided to OC it, most I was able to push is +150 on the core and +1000 on the memory without instability :)
I have Asus Rog Strix RTX 3070 i i could do +195 on core (2145 total) and +1100 on memey stable, could do +1200 on memory but it show some artifacts. Most RTX 3070 can go up to +1000 on memory, not sure why 3060 can go that lower, becauce its same meory GDDR6
Sweet spot for my under/overclocking is (below) 2000MHz core clock 900V +850MHz Memory clock. It droped my Temps a good 10Degree Celicus, but raised my benchmark score from around 9600 to 9964 on 3dmark time spy score. I recomend everyoneundercloocking the voltage and then overclocming the core and memory. Best of luck!!
good video!. my rtx 3060 gigabyte gaming OC 12gb REV1.0 was stable at GPU: +168 / MEMORY: +1000 in most all the games. there are few exceptions like cyberpunk or modern warfare II that were stable at GPU: +100 MEMORY: +900 in all cases using undervolting curves at 1volt
The Inno3D you showed at the beginning was already an OC Edition of the 3060? And what you dit with msi afterburner you overclockt it slightly more on an already overclockt card? How can you see at how much % your card is already higher than the basic RTX 1060? And why didn't you use it's own I3D overclocking programm?
Does it matter what manufacturer you have for your 3060ti? For instance I have an MSI Ventus version.... will Gigabyte settings work the same with MSI?
RTX 3060 gaming X Tried +170 core and +500 mem, tested MSFS 2020, RE 2 & 4 Remakes on high settings with Ray tracing, 60 fps locked and stable, temp not raising above 65°C. I'm fine with this?? Only Alan wake 2 gets my 3060 to 80°C. Should I worry about that?
I was able to get +180MHz for my RTX 3060 core clock but what I found out to be insanely good was undervolting the gpu went from 170w to 140-150w max and -5ºC, honestly undervolting is insane in the rtx 30 series cards you should try it!
@@AncientGameplays I've actually never owned an RX card :( these generation they look very good but GPU's are so hard to find, I got my rtx 3060 from a giveaway otherwise I'd still be running a gtx 1060 6gb
Vocês sabem que têm a mesma língua mãe??? Eheheh joking... Does it bring extra stress for the GPU? And if it does will it justify to have a 5% increase +/-2% in fps at the cost of your card's longevity?
@@cissejr Eu sei xD mas queria que se mais alguém visse a mensagem que soubesse que undervolt na series 30 da nvidia é uma coisa que vale a pena considerar
thanks, now i know a good channel to watch good videos you have but im still on another question what you think im receiving a gtx 1650 for a ryzen 5600x but later i will upgrade my gtx to rtx 3060 and later for a 3070 but my question is.did i buy a r5 5600 for the gtx and the rtx 3060 but when i upgrade i make a cpu overclock since r5 5600x is good for 3070 or buy a r5 5600x from the gtx 1650 passing for the 3060 and reaching 3070 since the r5 5600x is only good for 3070 and bad for the rtx 3060 and for the gtx 1650
Do you recommend use the OC button? Edit: I did it Manually, i got Core Clock 150+Mhz and Memory Clock 1200MHz, i tried with CB2077 and work really fine !
6% looks like in the games fps...But as far as i understand it better to undervolt the gpu for the heat buildup is lower n therefore will mayby be running for longer+read somewhere that its easy n even better for the gpu to oc+under volt the gpu in the long run due to lower heat? Is this in nayway true or have i understood it totaly wrong? I have the rtx3060 12gb in a prebuilt medion pc together w 3200mhz 16gb ram+i5 12400f cpu n the heat is always over 85-88celsius in cp2077 and other titels that are more demanding is this good(read that its running a little to hot?) Thanks 4 video(will thinkabout the undervolt n o.c for lower heat n higher fps.More the lower heat in my desktop w only fans not water cooling)
Thanks bro works much better with +125 clock and 500memory i have rtx 3060 mobile, with 140clock crashes gsmes but still have much better fps and games stable
That beginning of the CONTROL scene seems to stutter significant on the OC, despite the numbers telling another story... You see it when the chair and typewriter pass...
Basically turned it into a 4060 with an extra 4gb. hehe. I just bought the 3060 12gb for the vram headroom... I'm definitely going to OC it like this. The 4060 16gb is +$250 so this OC might be the best go between.
Nice video ! One question after doing this, will Armoury crate software from asus will overide those settings ? I mean what will happen if i set performance mode in Armoury, will it only control fans speed ? Should i remove Armoury crate ? Help please 🙏 Rtx3060 i7 11800 12GB
Hey,after I overclocked, around 20 seconds later the afterburner just randomly closed and reset the core clock to what I had set it to, I had only set it to 100 at the time (I have an RTX 3060). Is this unusual?
@@AncientGameplays God damn you're right! let me get back home quickly from work and I'll do everything step by step as you did on your tutorial. I did not expect it to be that easy. So I can just continue to increase (by 50mhz) and play the game for 30 mins to see if it works fine, and once I increase it too much, it won't damage any of my hardware but the game will simply crash, or the system will crash but it will let me turn the PC back on and lower the core clock back to the safe mhz? And there is nothing else I need to do? I will forever appreciate your time you spent making this video, even if I get 5 FPS more, I'll share it everywhere. Thank you so much man
@@AncientGameplays I am missing a thermal pad on one single memory chip. Will it be a problem using the card like this ? I am waiting for new thermal pad to arrive.
@@AncientGameplays ahh, just asking because i want to buy the ridiculously overpriced gigabyte vison 3060 that is 500$. Since its the only thing that will match my build.
@@AncientGameplays those are 600$ where im at, I am thinking I could also do a 6600xt nitro + since it kinda matches and its 400$ but also i could maby squeeze in a 6700xt nitro+ My target is 1440p ultrawide. I dont know if 8gb is good enough or not.
@@TheShepherdsPath the problem is not the VRAM, but instead the power of the GPU and for 1440P I think that you should definitely pick up at least a 6700XT
Interesting. I’m running +150 on core clock and +350 on memory clock. So far it’s been staying under 60 with Forza Horizon 5. 2K @ 60 FPS with ultra settings.
adjusting the core voltage % can not harm your card in any way. all your doing is telling the card to run at its 100% specified voltage. you're not actually changing the voltage, just the percentage. only a very few cards actually let you adjust the voltage like the K|ngP|in cards.
I have Palit rtx 3060 but my processor is ryzen 3500 is it weak to handle games like warzone and modern warfare. I am asking if I will have a a bottleneck in games or not and what is the best upgrade for my pc, thanks anyway.
@@AncientGameplays My EVGA RTX 3060 Black gets rather hot and loud (small cooler, 74°C GPU, 83°C hotspot, 2400 rpm). It runs into the power limit. I used Afterburner curve to undervolt the card from 1.08 Volts to 0.86 Volts at stock speed, usually boosting to 1837 MHz. It is much cooler, not as loud and runs in no power limit (120 - 140 Watts max). I bought it in summer for 500€, pretty "cheap" compared to today and it has 12 GB. It is not as heavy as the version from INNO3D or a MSi Ventus 3x.
@iwersant yeah but it’s not really high end bro I have one. The performance compared to the others makes this gpu like entry level since it was to replace the 1060 that the majority on pc gamers still use
my gpu will restart everynow and again after i play mw2, gta v online, r6 siege after about an hour or 2. my monitors will turn off and the my pc will restart so i downloaded msi after burner and it said +127 mhz for the core clock when i opened it first time i have set it to +0 now and hopefully i will see some changes. also if i change the temp limit ofr the fan does that mean it will turn on the fans early? Thanks for great video also.
@@AncientGameplays I am currently running Ryzen5 3600 with rtx 3060. my native reso is 4k so best I get is 80-100 FPS (100 if lucky) and my main focus is on Warzone. I would definitely try to overclock my GPU but I have to watch the video correctly. I am still not sure if this can be done by someone like me, who has absolutely no idea what to look at and what should I be careful with.
@@palmolive2517 I got busy and didn't buy one. We now have 3 RX6800s and an RX6800XT. I would recommend a 1440p monitor in any case. If you are in competitive online games, you can turn the resolution down. Single player it should give playable framerates.
Something strange about the 3060 (I have one) is that the memory is "slowed" down to 15Gbps by Nvidia. The memory chips are from samsung and they should be: "K4ZAF325BM-HC16", these modules are rated for 16Gbps, it would be interesting to see why they made this choice and if eventually the cards are able to dissipate these modules. My Zotac Twin Edge stock runs pretty hot, I don't know if I'm safe to OC the memory to 16Gbps to be honest lol Cool video man! Thank you for your work.
When i had a 3060 I must have won the silicon lotto as it could just about hit 2.2ghz OC on the core and memory +1250 (17.7gbs) it was an ASUS Strix modal. It benched 15% over stock so only 15-20% from a 3060ti lol
mine runs at +230core and +1700mem and is hitting its 105% powerlimit, so it seems I was quite lucky aswell :D (Both clocks verified in games and benchmarks with GPUz und hwi)
Edit: I FRIED MY 3060 DONT DO WHAT I DID💀🤣 Ran Heaven a couple times testing the core clock, memory clock, aswell having no temp limit and fans on at 100% at 3440x1440p on an MSI Ventus 2X RTX 3060 OC 12GB. With being in windowed mode and having heaven maxed out, I achieved a 200Mhz Core Clock & 1500Mhz Memory Clock at 60FPS Avg, averaging about 2100mhz, sometimes topping at 2160Mhz. My score was a 1515. Thank you so much for the tutorial, I was dead set on thinking I have to get a new GPU for 1440p gaming, but my 3060 blew my mind
I would check to see if your memory overclock is actually hurting your performance. This is the case on many 3060 cards. The GPU won't crash, rather just slow down the memory with error correction
Mt gpu, Mem and volt are always dropping, they dont stay like yours, can you Tell me why? IT looks like im using a low power mode or smth. I have a rtx 3060 12gb
Just got a 3070 after selling my Vega 56, I’m gonna miss the AMD OC tool. And it’s kinda weird to have a GPU selling at around 1000$ with only 8 gigs of VRAM...
i accidentally put it on max and i was so scared that i just destroyed my gpu but i unplugged it and plugged it back in and thank god it work never overclocking a gpu again.
i have this graphic(gtx 3060 12gb) i used to have a gth 1060 and on it the fans always turned regardless of the temperature...so i was wondering if it is normal that on this graphic all 3 fans don't activate until the graphic goes over about 52 celsius
