I had the same problem and still do, it became easier when i demanded that Christ take away my free will and fill me with his. Once that happens you begin to lose interest in sinful things, to the point of being repulsed by them the more and more you read and understand Gods word

Make God the priority of your day. Commit to 30 days of getting up and spending time in prayer, in the bible, and having a commentary on the side helps. It's not easy to do but is necessary for building that relationship with an awesome God.

Anytime you feel the thoughts waving and crushing through your mind, rebuke the thoughts, take your bible read a chapter and pray

Recognise any bad thoughts as evil entering your body and block it straightaway. Good shall prevail ❤

ME TOO! there are things , sins, that i cannot overcome, too scared to ask Jesus to take them away...i am bound by my sin, i try to shake off the shackles but they bite and restrain! i have been convicted of these sins thru prayer, warned over and over again in my prayers...

​@@wd-40freedompress80 Just be honest to God even though he already knows. Tell him you need help,want help and truly want to change but cannot on your own. You recognize the sin and with his help you can overcome anything. Repent in your heart. Go deeper and longer in prayer, away from others when nobody is around so that you can cry and shout if you need to. As the saying goes, even when I don't see it or feel it, you (God) are working. So whether you feel it or not , keep praying daily for this so he knows your commitment to change. All he wants is a relationship with you, and he will do the rest. Do your part and trust in him for the troubles you can't change. Repent but also rejoice in knowing that he can and will change you. Don't get stuck in the mentality of a sinner. Focus on the upcoming victory. You will one day look back and say praise and thanks to the Lord and say thanks for the future battles. God bless you.

@@wd-40freedompress80 Remember that Jesus loves you. Do not be afraid to ask Him to take ur sins away and to help you. He died on the cross for OUR sins and He is a caring and loving God. He will never judge u or call u by ur sin, instead He calls you by ur name. Repent and ask for help and let Him help and guide you.

Within: tentations of the flesh - fasting. Outside: oppressions on the world - early dawn prayers.

Do you go to confession and receive Holy Communion? Praying the rosary each day and Angelus three times a day at 6am, 12pm and 6pm helps me with this, but I still struggle to let go of it. But it's not so much a constant obsession.

Temptation begins long before the choice of Yes or No. Remove the path to Temptation, the pattern of behaviour that ends with the choice. For example, going to a party and the Temptation is to drink alcohol. Don't go to the party and the path to Temptation is removed, the Yes or No choice is gone.
