When I was younger and older (now 56) and asked my father for anything (even advice) apart from food my father always used to say “Let me think about it and I’ll tell you tomorrow” I would wait and sometimes the answer was yes and no, but always with an explanation. At 30 years old I asked my father why the wait, he explained that when a person asks it’s due to wanting and being caught up in a moment and a refusal could lead to hurt but to wait a day would lead to patience which was the better of the two. If everyone took time to think there would be less troubles in the world. I pray that this helps and if I’m off topic then at least I hope I have passed on some of my father’s wisdom.
