As a Christian, we all deal with temptation in our life that leads to sin. But we want to be able to live in freedom and in victory. So today, Melissa Faisst will help us understand how to overcome temptation and what spiritual warfare actually looks like.
So lets take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and fight just like David fought with Goliath.

Thank you for this encouraging message.) For me, if I deal with the temptation, biblically, it works every time. Taking every thought captive. The lord will not allow us to be tempted more then we can handle. Unfortunately we are still in these physical bodies. If I deal with it right away. It is always successful. If I don’t deal with it right away, I usually fall into sin. And the pain and sorrow in my spirit is literally horrific, the last few years. The word of God is quick and powerful and sharper then any two edged sword. The word works every time. But thank God when we do fall, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin. Just sharing.) I also did a video a few weeks ago, just to encourage someone. God bless you guys mightily today. 🙏👋

I pray everyday all day. When I do my chores, vacuuming, etc. it’s been a few years since I’ve used, but God has completely taken the urge away! Hallelujah. If I even think of drinking or smell it, it gags me. PTL 😊🥰❤️ I don’t ever want to disappoint Him again. I’ve hit my bottom and I know if I do go back, my life will be on the line.

I was molested at the age of 7, I never processed it as a teenager, or even as a young man. I wasn’t raised around role models in the church, my grandma might of had me say the Lord’s prayer once before bed, but nothing much after that. I found the Lord at age 24, and I’m 31 now. My walk with the Lord revealed to me that the moment I chose to never speak of, could very well be responsible for the mentality I developed towards sex, women, perversion, and sexual immoral endeavors, like Pornography. I was always worried what it could mean to my family..he was my Grandmother’s husband, my uncles father, and my mom loved him so much, unconditional love, always so grateful when he offered to help us in any way. I was afraid of speaking the truth, but no more. I told my family of this atrocity that had fallen upon me at such a young age. Although it only happened ONCE, the image remained. But there is no pity necessary here today, yesterday, or tomorrow, for I stand here today Redeemed in Christ Jesus, I stand firm in his Glory, I stand tall in the redemption of my past transgressions. The Lord pulled me away from the worst things about myself, and the more I dove into Christ, the more those things began to fall away, by the sanctity of my Salvation. I’m not perfect, but I’m here to speak over any man woman or child today that stood face to face with that DEMON OF PERVERSION, and you walked out of that room, you walked from his or her grasp, you went on to live in confusion, and doubt. A passage that's been so helpful for me with temptation is Ephesians 5: "let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore, do not become partners with them, for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true) and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light." Sin wants to hide in darkness, but when we expose things to the light and get them in the open it loses its power and becomes light to others!

God doesn't care about your weight, seriously what a selfish thought process. I can tell you the 1 thing that will make you lose weight, its called a caloric deficit. I have a masters in health and nutrition and a bachelor's in kinesiology.

Such a good video, thank you for sharing this! I have been dealing with lust for most of my life and through counseling/fasting/accountability/even taking the locks off my doors at one point God has given me freedom from such a rough battle. One thing that helped me was coming to terms with the fact that I struggled. I tried to always be dismissive and say things like "well all men struggle with this" but in reality my heart was so hard I didn't believe that God could change me. All the advice you gave in the video is spot on and can say first hand that it works wonders!

I needed this!! Temptation with old patterns and habits have tried to come up during the pandemic but God's word really works! He honestly does care more about you to help you than you do for yourself. A favourite verse is Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7 😜

Melissa, have you had an experience of "not friendly christians"?! How to deal with them when they try to manipulate or saying something not pleasant? it makes me to shut down , because when I go to the ministry or church I do not expect that it is a war filed....

Hi friend. That’s actually what I’m trying to deal with now. Some of the meanest Christians, or really some of the meanest people in general, are right here on RU-vid. And like you mentioned, it almost hits you harder because you don’t expect it. So I’m still trying to work through that. I feel like I need advice more than I can give on that subject 😂 but know you are not alone! Pray for them, bless them, get wisdom from trusted people, and maybe put some boundaries to guard your own heart

They really can but Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. I've had some crazy times of temptation but God never gives up on you, stand firm of God's word and the devil always flees! God is for you 🙌

Without the Holy Spirit any temptation will be a struggle, actually life without the Holy Spirit in general is difficult. Without the Holy Spirirt scriptures can sometimes not make sense even Jesus said the unspirtual person cant comprehend these worda (1 Corinthians 2:14). A mini testimony from me I am going on about 6yrs of celibacy celibate meaning no porn, no masturbation and no sex till after I marry I dont want my first kiss till our marriage day and to be honest if I had not been born again if I had not received the Holy Spirit I would continually be falling for temptation (Sin). No matter how much we repeat and repeat bible verses no Holy Spirit no Holy life it's almost impossible. God says to ask for the Holy Spirit and he will give it to you for FREE (Luke 11:13) Patiently waiting for my wife, anxiously serving the Lord. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
