I have the Rightline for a Ram 1500 and it does work really well. Only downside with any tent and this one is no different is if you do have to use your rainfly, it gets very hot inside due to NO air flow. Otherwise, it's a great setup.

I truck camped before I'd ever heard of overlanding using my Avalanche & a truck tent. It was great because I also had access to the interior of the truck by folding down the midgate, etc. I found the setup to be clunky, but worked exceptionally well when all set up. Bonus was that I used the hard bed panels as my table tops!

Cool video, shows it can be done on a budget, honestly though, get yourself a roof top tent you will not regret it. I am so glad I did, I'll never go back to camping on the ground or in the bed of my truck. Plus you can literally set them up and be camping in five minutes.

Very nice and informative review! I actually bought one after seeing this video. A few weeks ago I bought a new 2019 TRD Off Road Tacoma. I will use this tent to camp out on our property, with my son and his friends( we own a horse farm on a river). It will be nice to be off the ground and it sets up easily (well my son did most of the work - He's an Eagle Scout so he could set up most tents in his sleep). Your reviews are very nice and informative (I subscribed).

I highly agree with u only reason I chose this one, 1 the brand 2 the price was $30 when I got it which is cheap considering it came with a fast pump , but all in all I agree a smaller one would be way better 👍

The single twin battery pump is just as good if you don't have the plug in the truck and will have plenty of head room. Nice vid man!!!

Dude, I just bought one for a 6.5' bed. Love it, never on the ground again.rain cover works like a charm. Going to build a riser ( drawer) for the mattress , mine didn't set between the fenders, doesn't really matter when your sleeping, but I can use the storage. Great video keep up the great work.

I have the same set up , except I have a DCLB 4x4 ,,and my custom bed tent has an awning ,I like it because it’s more economical (gas mileage and weight), saves packing space and I don’t have to run bed bars or a rooftop tent , saves space for my 4 wheeler ,,plus when I’m daily driving I don’t look like search and rescue when I’m in line for a “double double” at In N Out👉🏼😉😎,,,great video bro.

RTT are great if your going on an trip but I see too many people just daily driving around with their RTT on the the truck. I’ll stick with a tent set up too.

That mattress is ridiculous! Get a inflatable bed that’s half as thick, resulting in more space and comfort. Also put a liner between your truck bed and your mattress, if not it will puncture on the smallest of thorns screw heads etc. That is a nice tent perfect for the truck bed.

Sportz makes a better truck tent that has an enclosed bed liner so when it rains, the water in your truck bed cannot get to you. They also have a tent that extends past the tailgate so you have a place to stand up n change clothes.

Spend the money get a roof top tent and a bed rack, saves time unloading/loading/setting up plenty of room for storage it’s worth it

Thanks guys! That is a sweet little system for getting out there in the over landing. Would be perfect for one person, like me, who wants to just hit the woods for a weekend, regardless the budget. So it is a good starter tent the Napier one is a bit more of a solid construction but as stated in the video that ones a bit more complicated to set up this one I have is a bit easier only upside with the Napier besides being more $ is that one comes with a floor but this one breaths pretty well u can always crack a window, and I will have to soon I now have a camper shell but people have asked if it can still be used with it so maybe when I get to making that video I’ll talk more on it to? A single height air mattress would give you more headroom but the tent looks great except it's a shame that it doesn't have an awning over the entry.

Yes I agree I just chose this one only because of the it came with a pump built in and for the price it was I couldn’t pass on but I do agree for someone a bit big than myself I would just opt for a smaller height mattress, I agree :/ but there’s many awning options you can buy from other company’s if anything but would be nice if it came offered, thank you for watching my friend

I know you posted a while ago but when you have it set up completely and zipped up the door did you have a bow in the zipper? If you did what did you do to make it flat? I set mine up exactly how the direction and how y’all did it and the door zipper was not completely flat. Had some trouble zipping it up and un zipping it because of the bow in it. Hopefully my concern made sense. Haha

I like the Napier truck tent over the Rightline but the Rightline has the better price point. Airbedz has a better air mattress too but, again, price point.

I am going to Portsmouth Island this weekend on a Red Drum fishing trip. We will be surf fishing. Can you drive down the beach with this attached? The speeds will be below 10 miles per hour. I have this tent , we camp in the high Sierra's we use a memory foam mattress which is an exact fit for the bed of the truck with the fender Wells cut out on mattress, good 3 season tent

That looks like it sleeps only one comfortably, i'd probably just sleep in the cab or front seat. A little bit expensive for me but more worth it if two people could fit imo..

The Laughing Lion if you get the right line gear bed air mattress, you should be able to sleep two comfortably easily, the bed is about 5’ wide

Really nice trucks man! I'm probably picking up that tent! I just subbed a couple of weeks ago and so far I'm loving the content. I'm a newbie offroader and I wanted to ask you, how do you guys deal with trail rash? I got a brand new 2018 taco Trd offroad 4x4 and it's getting killed on the mountain trails. Especially on the plastic trim.

Thanks my friend I really appreciate that!!!, it’s great for starters 👌, that means a lot man I’m happy to hear you been staying along my journey here I appreciate that, so for that that’s honestly something that isn’t to cheap but if u have the money it’s well worth it not sure if you’ve heard of ceramic coat if u have well it defenitly works lol!! That’s how my friend in the red Tacoma has his truck still in mint condition mine unfortunately isn’t ceramic coated and it’s starting to get beat especially the plastics but with the ceramic coat it defenitly works that would be my recommendation if you do plan on it I can have him explain a little more on it (pricing wise)

The ceramic coating works wonders on my truck, hit a tail get those desert pin stripes and wash them right off and it looks like it’s been waxed, I’m sponsored by a detail company but the gold package that I have lasts for 5 years and runs at about $1800 plus labor depending on how many scratches n stuff your truck has it can be cheaper or more expensive and as far as the plastics, mine aren’t ceramic coated but nothing a little plastidio couldn’t cover up down the road, I did that to my grill and my rear bumper and it’s held up real nicely and after a while just peel it off and recoat it and it’ll look brand new again 👌🏽

I do have the Napier long bed tent for the tacoma it is nice he is correct its poles are to long this set up is better mattress I use I can't remember but it covers the wells and isn't as high as his which is better

I highly agree but it’s comfortable and it comes with everything you’ll need for the budget price can’t go wrong, there is many others you can purchase that I would say get but those of course are a lot more then this one.
