The problem for me is that I fold everything really nicely and it is very compact, and then the trip is over and it’s time to re-pack and I am sitting on my bag trying to zip it closed.
You can take a greyhound bus or MEGA Bus, cheap when you book 2 weeks ahead, book overnight bus to save 1 night of hotel, you will arrive to destination ready to sightseeing
I don’t use packing cubes. I get 1 gallon ziplock bags, roll my clothes and put a rubber band around each item so they don’t unroll and stuff them in a ziplock. Then before closing the ziplock bag all the way, I put the bag under my knees to squeeze all the air out then continue zipping it up. It saves so much room for me when packing my carry on.
I just packed really compact and got everything in the one suitcase. It was 10 pounds overweight and would cost a lot more. Now I had to take it all out and repack in two bags.
I usually visit 3 countries in 1 trip, with different activities, so its hard to pack in 1 bag. I always end up mailing a box of souvenirs & shoes 3 days before my trip ends. A month later, I get a box full of sweet memories, almost like Christmas 🙂
I lead a 10-14 day high school trip every few years. For the last several trios I pick out my oldest/worst socks and underwear to take on the trip. After I wear them I throw them in the garbage. By the end of the trip I gain some space for souvenirs. When I get home I open new packs of socks and underwear!
camila haha i know i’m just teasing i do the same. she brought 7 days worth of clothing and 16 underwear. i get it, if she doesn’t find a laundry, she can repeat outfits and still feel comfortable with clean underwear and socks.
It's great seeing the tips and how organized you are! The challenge for me has always been the Size of the items. I have size 13 feet so packing shoes in a carry on rolling bag will always be awkward. I find it harder for larger size clothes to be packed as well, since i wear L or XL multiple folds will increase the thickness of the item when you try to condense it down making them not fit when placed together. Using the backpack and rolling luggage combo seems to be the best option for me. Along with reusing staple pieces and washing clothes. ... That way I'll still have space for souvenirs!😆
Love your video...I prefer packing cubes and use the space at the bottom between the areas for the handle to put thin flat items, folded PJ, swim cover up , robe, etc...like hard shell case so can’t overpack and have case bulge out as it Won’t easily fit in overhead
Honestly replacing shampoo, conditioner, soap, body lotion (yes solid body lotion is awesome) and toothpaste (tothe tabs from Lush is really good and you can get almost months supply of them in a tiny recyclables pack you can take with you in your back pocket) with solid forms can be very helpfull. This way they will not bug you over the amout of liquids you have and since they are all solid you can just put it in cary on. Also always make sure you know were you can wash your cloths, this way you can pack less and just wash things.
I never bother packing an umbrella. In most major cities, you can buy one for super cheap if you need it ($5 on a street corner in nyc!) & then I just gift it to someone before I leave. It’s one of those items where it’s worth $5-10 not to have it take up space in my carry-on.
Nic L We arrived in London in an absolute deluge. Worst rainstorm of the year. Only 2 of us had packed travel umbrellas and used titanium carry ons! I was lucky I brought the umbrella and my Delsey! In Japan there were umbrellas everywhere - grab and go and leave at the next place you go to!
I needed this but This is for a school trip and it's 2 days I can't bring any mists medication shampoo makeup etc but it's very helpful since I'm a overpackef for clothes
BRAVO GREAT VIDEO BY FAR! Best RU-vidr/ Podcast Ever!..... You Explained It so Clearly, Sweet and Simple, Easy to Follow! ......Thanks for the travel tips! Gotta Go Now....Yeah :)
I'd love to see how you would pack for a 2 week Alaska cruise! That's my reality right now (hopefully). Trying to whittle down my packing list little by little. Right now I have a packing list for 8 days and doing laundry.
Thank you for this video it helped me out so much packing to head back home from my Punta Cana trip. 😂😂 love the part at the end “I’m travelin, we goin places” 😂😂 that we are !
This is no longer possible internationally. And it’s not about room. There are now many weight restrictions on carry-ons too, and most are 8kg. Clothes, shoes, and toiletry weigh quite a bit, so for a 2 week trip, 8kg is not enough. Unless it’s a tropical trip where you barely need any layer clothes or boots.
I have watched a billion of these videos and I haven’t been successful with my carry ons like these look no matter how many times I try to fold or roll or the cubes. My carry on and backpack are hot messes LOL
Great vid... But please what volume is your carry on??? I tried this and could only get half of your stuff in mine? Also possible to fold marie knondo in a packing cube or not good idea????
Great tips! But one time I used a method I saw on youtube and let me tell you, I did a good job! In a backpack I was able to put alot of stuff. Só tbere goes my husband off to France to work when the backpack passed through the xray and the officer was suspicous and asked to open the backpack! 😂😂😂 It was só roled up they thought that it was drugs or something....the problem was my husband putting all the clothes back in the backpack! Luckily he was travelling with his brother and he put some clothes in his brother's carryon! Damn my folding had an impact! 😂😂
I love her speaking voice. So many younger girls talk “like, and then she said, like, he won’t talk to me, and Robby said, like...” It’s exhausting to try and understand!
She's great! Although I will say, shes very chill in style, whereas I love fashion and outfits etc so it is a lot easier for someone who doesn't care what they wear or about beauty products! They pack like men do lol
Also take that shampoo bar out of your liquids container because it takes up space where you might want to put more liquids because the shampoo bar does not count is a liquid
What do I really like in the carry-on packing process , is that Colombian Airport agent (a combination of a TSA agent and a ticketing agent), who dumps everything out of my bag (after me spending hours in packing it correctly), X-ray my stuff, then proceeds to X-ray the empty bag, then throws everything back (of course not in order, and overflowing), then I move to the plane, when another agent greets me with a stern face, and check again my bag when the airplane is waiting. So much for careful packing... I finally board the aircraft when all the seated passengers look at me angrily as if I am a cause of any delay, and I am trying to fit my overflow bag in the overhead completely full bean and try to get in my seat where is a woman sitting and refuses to move. In short, no need to carefully pack and how I love traveling.
Do you know how much your carry on weighed when you finished packing? And were you able to store your carry on above you in the plane? (P.S. I LOVED your giggle after saying "Fold the crotch part in" LOLOL)
Love this! Thank you!! I dont want to pay the extra to check in, who does? I see this was created 2 yrs ago. Concerned about the liquids and the 4 3oz bottles limit allowed. Will research that...
It depends on the airline you are using. Most airlines have different size and weight restrictions so I suggest confirming with airline ahead of the time.
I'm trying to figure out how many clothes to bring with us for our 3 weeks trip, being in both hot and cold weather (Hawaii and Japan). We are in two, with a carry-on and a hold luggage each, and we're planning on saving some space for souvenirs. I'm really confused 😓
yes everything fit to luggage but if it is over 8 kilos they dont allow you to take the luggage to cabin. Its carry on luggage so dont try to fit everything in it. otherwise you packed overweight
@@worldcitizeng6507 ziplock bags are easy to squeeze air out of. There are also vacuum bags/space saver bags which you can roll to squeeze the air out of.
@@yasminejasmine4368 I tried this methods before without folding cloths neatly. Now that I had adopted the "burritos" method, I like to stag my "burritos" neatly into my new mesh packing cubes, i can squeeze all the air out, stag it to fit my bags. Once unzip, i can take whichever things I need, and the rest are still organized inside the cube. I guess i like the zip closure .
@@BritneyT. yes, but the odor is still there, and in warm environments it's the perfect place for bacteria growth. How often do you clean your jogging shoes...every week?
@@rmy580 They actually sell sanitizing sprays for your sneakers but I wouldn't pack underwear in my shoes regardless...I think socks are so tiny and be stuffed anywhere so not a big deal to find space for them in the luggage
Always bring your meds in the original bottle or else you might get charged for drug trafficking or best case you get them taken away. Check the rules where you are going if you are allowed to travel without a bottle.
My mom had a problem with carrying her pills in a pill box. She was help up for over 1.5 hours once because they told her she should have brought her medication in the original prescription bottles. 🙄
