What a great tutorial. You have given me a motivation boost to tackle my plastic soldier British 1/72 Shermans for Battle Group Normandy. Some great weathering and dry brushing tips. Keep em coming !

Great Video. I just built five Sherman tanks this week and found that the treads didn't fit tight, like you found. On the last tank I glued the tracks on first then glued the front sprocket on and it worked great. No space and lined up.

Can't use "any" mainly because it's not really a wax and most others are. It's an acrylic, the same as your paints. It's just a much cheaper option than buying a tiny bottle for gloss from your paint manufacturer. I airbrush it, but brushing works too.

@Sonnypjim09 The 15mm Sherman are 5.5cm by 2.5cm. I have a 1/72 one and it's 8cm by 3.8cm. Most 15mm figs are pretty crappy, but Plastic Soldier Co. makes nice detailed 15mm German and Russian infantry, with Americans on the way. No word of British, though. They do have Brits in 1/72 scale.

@ThePaintingClinic Thanks for the quick and enlightening response. Just checked on their site, it seems the British late war 15mm infantry are "in the pipeline" so hopefully out soon. :) After spending some time looking around on RU-vid/Google, the 15mm German & Soviet infantry do look very well detailed for their size as you said. I think you have helped with my decision (In part to the awesome looking Shermans you painted!) Gonna go for 15mm scale I think. Thanks!

@Sonnypjim09
@Sonnypjim09 12 лет назад
Insanely great detail with these minis! I plan on collecting either 15mm scale or 20mm (1/72nd) scale sometime soon - most likely a British armoured company. But torn between what to collect in scale... The 15mm Shermans look around 6.5cm in length and around 3cm wide. Are they really that big? If so, may go for them instead of 20mm, was not wanting to get miniatures with barely any detail (was concerned about the infantry in 15mm) but the tanks and crew look fine in this vid.

Awesome work. I wish youtube still used the Star rating system so I could give you 5! I've been on the fence about starting FoW I want to do something a bit different so I'm thinking about doing a British armored car company. If you have a Staghound or Daimler lying around and want to do a tutorial I'd appreciate it.

Are you wiping the wash off the tank with dry cotton bud? It looks dry. Thought maybe you had some nail polish remover on there. I've used that before to wipe wash from a model.

@ThePaintingClinic

Jorge Mateos It doesn't have any added scent. You need to clean your airbrush well afterwards or it will lock your needle.

I fail to see how sound quality would effect any copyright issues here, since the only background music is the intro which has been in virtually -all- of your other videos with no issue...

There WAS music thru the whole thing. RU-vid has tools that can scrub out the copyrighted parts.

Is it necessary to use an enamel wash over the clear coat for it to wipe off like that?
@ThePaintingClinic
@ThePaintingClinic 10 лет назад
Yes, sort of... Without the clear coat the wash would stain the paint and less would come off. It will still come off, just not to the same degree as if you clear coat first.
