I just started painting Watercolour about a year ago. I learned so much from him. Of all the artists on U tube, he was the best teacher and his work is wonderful. I wish I could have know him when he was alive. But his work lives on! I hope they do not take down his u tube chanel.
just discovered Mr. Grant yesterday then I started searching his other social medias, but then today I found out he already passed away, rest in peace Mr. Grant, thank you for sharing your works, words, and passion. Trully an amazing watercolorist. 💐💘
Fantastic demonstration. Thank you! Nice way to paint forest. I struggle with trees. I tried to paint juniper trees in high desert but can’t figure out good way of doing it. If anyone has a good suggestion please chime in.
Nice one Grant. If there is one thing I have learned it is make sure the paper is bone dry before you put masking fluid over top of an already painted area, such as the rocks here.
+Adam Wallen you're right, whether masking fluid goes on blank paper or over painted areas, it needs to be dry before it goes on and before it comes off. Better not force it dry with hot air, it tends to melt into the fibers.
Hi Grant, I love you videos. I've been using Daniel Smith water colors and my cobalt blue looks much brighter blue (not as gray). Can you suggest what I might do to make it look more like the cobalt you are using?
+Pablo Maggiani Hi Pablo, I use a 200 lb. cold press paper, that is a medium texture, not too rough but enough of a tooth to make the surface absorbent for wet work. Smooth paper stays wet on the surface (hot press) and creates puddles. Good for wild random effects but hard to control.
